Hong Kong without aircon

In Grand Hyatt you can enjoy the typical great care of asian personal including spa, fitness center (running belts maybe two generations better than in europe ;o)), great desert bufet, I allways get some weigt there...
You can enjoy western, japanese and ofcourse chinese food.
You stay in luxury, comfort and design...

Unique Quality: 11th Floor, also Platteau.

There are rooms made in japanese style, with japanese beds and bathrooms. 6 of this rooms have a smal but nice balcony. Rooms which are not hermeticaly closed are very unique in HK.
Breakfast is served outside (wonder in HK) on a terace in 11th floor of the tower.
I visit HK frequently and this is the best place to stay if you get ill of aircoditioned air.
There is also a short jogging track on the 11th floor terace and the biggest hotel pool in HK.

The best luxury hotel

I stay in this hotel during Chinese New Year to see the firework (on the second day of Chinese New Year), you have to reservate the room 1 year ahead (only for those festivals), because you will able to see the massive giantic firework flower BLOOM in front of you.

If you are having some conference or going to exhibition, the Hong Kong Exhibition and Conference Center is just next to it.

The room is just very high quality, everything is perfect.

Unique Quality: The hotel has everything you want, and it is expensive too!

Beside, the japanese resturant Kaetsu (which means a happy deer), their buffet is just amazing, i really mean it! If you plan to stay here, do reserve a seat for their dinner buffet, you got the freshest sushi, sashimi, crab legs, all so fresh!

Grissini the Italian resturant is also a must try too (but compare to Kaetsu, it is second important). Their dessert are "SOOOOO GOOOOOODDDDD" X n times

Grand Hyatt HK

The Grand Hyatt Hong Kong is a great place to stay when you're travelling on business. It is located in Wanchai, HK Island, and not to be confused with the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Kowloon.

Great service is everywhere, from the bellboy to the waiter who brings room service.

The room itself is spacious and well appointed, with a beautiful marble bathroom and great amenities.

I had a room overlooking the Harbour and from the huge windows, the nightview was simply fantastic.

The hotel is also conveniently located, and if you take a 5-min cab ride to Central, you can easily hop on to the MTR and get virtually everywhere.

Unique Quality: The Plateau Spa in Grand Hyatt is rated as one of the best spas of the world. Personally I did not get the chance to try it this time around, but looking at the prices, this is something you'll wanna try if you're looking to give yourself a treat.

Loved Grand Hyatt Hong Kong

by TripAdvisor Member yuwaltz

One of the best hotels I've stayed in Asia. The Club Level rooms are not big but comfortable. I was upgraded to a larger room during my last visit. Absolutely loved the decor, contemporary furnishing, black and white photos, marble bathroom... Also really, really enjoyed the food, especially their own Duck Liver Pate. It's heavenly! If it wasn't my first stop in Asia, I would have bought 2 jars to take home. The lunch and dinner buffet were also very nice. The selection of food was probably not as large as some of the hotel buffets in HK and Taipei, but the quality was absolutely impressive. They also have a dessert buffet at the Tiffin Lounge from 4pm to 1am with many tasty sweets, chocolates, cheese, both Chinese and Western, to choose from. The lobby is a good peopole watching spot, especially weekend evenings. Although the price is fairly high (but not higher than other 5 star hotels in the region), I will definitely stay there again.

Fantastic!

A very classy lady! What an experience at this hotel. Yes it is expensive but well worth it. We had a harbour view room on the 20th floor, the view is to die for! A few points that make this hotel stand out for me - check in is quick, cheerful and very very professional. Receptionist escorts you to the lift and presses the floor button, small but nice touch. Another nice touch is that the lifts when not in use are always on the ground floor and the doors are open. Again small point but it is surprising how welcome that seems.

Room is not particularly large but nicely decorated in neutrals with a black and gold bathroom.

Room service is efficient. We ordered ice most evenings which arrived promptly. Approx 90 minutes after delivering the first ice bucket a top up arrived without being ordered. Everywhere smartly dressed Hyatt staff smile, wave and help where they can.
I got in the lift with one of them who promptly got a tissue out of her bag and proceeded to polish the lift button panel, she had obviously seen a finger print!

The concierge desk is great. We travelled around quite a bit and they were invaluable. Train and bus information (including bus numbers and fares) were provided plus a host of other valuable information.

Grand Hyatt Hong Kong - you are an outstanding example of how a 5 star hotel should operate.

Well done.

Buffet at Hyatt Hong Kong or Cafe Too at Island Shangrila

by karenloves2travel

Hi,

I had the opportunity of experiencing the dessert buffet at the Hyatt when in Hong Kong last November. We are returning to Hong Kong in May and will celebrate my husband's birthday. I was thinking of going to the full buffet at the Hyatt for dinner but was wanting opinions on whether a better choice would be the Cafe Too at Island Shangrila? I don't like the standard buffet with average food so would be looking for something special. I really value your opinion as I have had some wonderful advice from this forum for my previous holidays.

Cafe Too is not your standard buffet. The seafood is great and the dessert buffet just as good! Worth a try!
