Clown costume ?
Hi,
You definitely cannot buy a clown in HK, but you are always welcome to buy a clown costume in HK. Try the Stanley Market at Stanley bay, or around the Midlands shopping area.
Good luck, Clownden.

The stay in this hotel was horrible. The hotel is far away from the center of Hongkong, however, hotel provides shuttle to nearest metro station but the shuttle is after every 3 to 4 hours and no travel assistance at night. Moreover, room of the hotel ends by the time you enter in the room. Very small room with the non-courteous staff. Location of the hotel is also very indecent. Also, the rooms are costly compared to any other hotel in the center of the city. Also there is no place to roam around the hotel. Also, the room does not have any view, the rooms have balconies but they are not opened by the hotels at all. Even, the breakfast if the hotel does not have any variety of food. In short, look for something else rather staying at this place.

Where is the best place to see the fireworks this coming Chinese new year February 4 2011?
I havent been in Hong Kong for Chinese New Year but the traditional (western) New Years Eve fireworks are let off around Victoria Harbour which is the focal point of the city.
Anywhere along the TST waterfront (Avenue of Stars would be ideal) or Central on HK Island would be good viewing places.
Yes, definitely the waterfront area between Star Ferry and the Avenue of the Stars. It'll be extremely crowded though and people usually go at least a few hours early to secure a good spot for photos.

All museums are free on Wednesday, except special theme shows.
Science museum is quite big so you may want to pay and spend some good time there. Likewise with the HK heritage museum. Try to visit some small museums on Wednesday so you are not spending much and get to see more.
Small museums include:
* Planetarium (Space museum) in Tsim Sha Tsui - 1 hour
* Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum in Sham Shui Po in Kowloon
* Sam Tung Uk Museum in Sha Tin in New Territories Science museum is good for family while young kids may not find HK heritage museum interesting.
My fondest memory of Hong Kong was the landing of the plane at the old HK airport, Kai Tak (closed July 5, 1998), which was famous for its approaches over Hong Kong's crowded Kowloon district and the stunning views of cavernous, skyscraper-lined Kowloon Bay it gives arriving and departing fliers.
Click here to view an mpeg of just how close the planes are to the streets of HK when they used to land at Kai Tak airport. This mpeg and more can be found at and are courtesy of Nobuhiko Hirai.
Join the street party on Nathan Road on Christmas Eve! Never in my life have I ever
seen so many people and everybody is happy. Fond memories every time I saw something new. From Central to N.T. to the north,
Hong Kong was amazing. The school children in their uniforms were cute.
I guess what the guys would like to say is exactly what I said. You can take as little as 1 day to cover the place. But, that is strictly sticking to the places you have mentioned. However, if you are going to be adventurous and would be flexible with your schedule, then you will definitely find other sites along the way.
Hongkong is a very diverse country. There are a lot of things you can do or see that you just have to choose which ones you prefer the most. If you don't make a plan, you'll end up confused. I've stayed there for 7 days and spent almost 6 hours in the Hongkong Museum of History alone. Yet, I still found that I should have stayed longer. Now, we would like to go back there to go to those museums again. LOL
