Hostels in Mongkok
staying in mongkok is better that in other place in hong kong. I stayed at King Wah which is the same bldg as dragon hostel. I never had problems with security, cleanliness and booking online. Just make sure you have a copy of it. You can bring USD or pesos and exchange once you are there. But I bought a few HKD here in manila for my initial expences like octopus card. You can have better exchange deal in the money changer along Nathan Road particularly ground floor of chung king mansions. Enjoy your trip!

Hostel
friendly and accomodating staffs eventhough they dont speak much English in anyway they can understand what you mean. This is a cheap and clean hostel. Personal things are safe and secured. The room is small but this is standard for all rooms in Hong Kong
