    Comfortable Hotel

    by

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, on our very first visit to Hong Kong. We booked it last minute, and since there was a trade fair on that weekend, it was hard for us to find accommodation, and this was one of the only places with an available room, so it was a last resort booking. What a lovely surprise! We really enjoyed this hotel. After coming off a 13 hour flight, we arrived at this hotel. We arrived early, and our room was not ready, so we were offered complimentry drinks, and waited for our room. The free drinks were a lovely gesture, as we were the ones that arrived early, and it wasn't their fault that the room was not ready yet. So it was nice of them to offer us free drinks.

The room was small, but we were prepared for this, as we were told that all Hong Kong hotel rooms were small. So even though small, the room was very comfortable, clean, and modern. The bathroom was small too, but very clean. The bed may well be the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, we were very pleased.

We were given some drink vouchers, so spent some time in the hotel bar. It was a great environment, with a band playing, and lots of dancing going on. The service was fantastic, and we even ate dinner in the hotel one night too, and the food was great.

The hotel is next to a convenience store, and supermarket.... which came in handy. There is a McDonalds around te corner, as well as bus stop, and tram stop too. There is also an underground train station about a 1 minute walk from the hotel too.

All in all, we had a great stay here. It's a bit far out from the "happening" places, but very easy to get around by public transport.

Away from the bustle and din

    by

The hotel is across the street from Tin Hau MTR station and Victoria Park. The buffet breakfast is not included with the room but during our stay they gave us a 30% discount for breakfast. Our room was a bit small but has enough space to move around even with our bags lying around. They have complimentary coffee and tea but no mineral water. No big deal as there is a Wellcome and 7-11 grocery stores nearby.

    Would recommend this place

Unique Quality: They have a open-air rooftop pool with jacuzzi at their topmost floor. The jacuzzi has multiple outlets that give out strong water jets that could really massage your tired back and legs after a whole day of walking.

This hotel is more for the business traveller as there's free internet access cable (no wi-fi) and free shuttle service to the HK convention center that leaves every 30 mins. The shuttle could also transport you to the Causeway area for shopping.

Directions: From Central, take MTR line to Chai Wan and get off at Tai Hun station. Go out at Exit B and cross the street at the intersection. The hotel will be about 60 meters away.

    Nice hotel

Just stayed in the Metropark hotel at christmas and can recommend it, it was clean and well run and not overly expensive. It was near a mrt station which made it easy to get to most places.

Unique Quality: The pool which is on the roof is in a great location but unfortunately its not heated so their was not a soul in it.

Directions: Picture from roof of Metropark

    Good Island Hotel

    by

Found the hotel to be very nicley kept, ie, clean, comfortable bed, good shower & location close to Victoria Park, which is nice to walk through & watch the locals at rest.
Room size is small but comparable with most HK hotels.
I found check-in a bit slow, but that was my only gripe.

Unique Quality: Outstanding views from the roof top pool.
    Close to MTR Station

Hotel is very modern and rooms are well furnished.

Pool, saunas and very small gym.

Good location to subway and supermarket 2 doors away.

MetroPark hotel is A OK!

I stayed at metropark hotel one year after it opened up (it first opened in 2001). I took the metro right from the airport to the hotel, you have to transfer once. It's about a 3 minute walk to the hotel. when i got there, the hotel inside is beautiful. I was checked in fast and went up to my room on the 29th floor. The room is very clean, very attractive and nice. the bed has a white goose down comforter(which i never seen in a hotel befor). The bathroom was clean and has a roomy shower. I didn't find the room cramped, but it is a lil' smaller then the rooms in the USA. Very nice staff. I'm a college student and went by was by myself at the time. When I went to go to book a tour at the tour office, the lady rep invited me to have dinner with her at the hotel for no charge. Very nice hotel, on of the best service I ever had at a hotel. Very easy to get around the city, since it very close to the metro station and bus stations. The pool is on the roof, very nice pool and very nice view. Seven Eleven is 3 stores away, super market is close too. i sugest you go there instead of using the mini bar at the hotel since that is a lil' bit pricey. Breakfast was very good! overall I Loved It. Would stay there again if i ever go back to hong kong.

The Metropark Hotel in Hong Kong is a very clean, modern hotel with excellent facilities (except the fitness center) and is a great value. Staff were friendly and, while the location is not central, the MTR is just 2 blocks away.

Airport to Metropark Hotel Causeway Bay using Cityflyer

by gort

Hi Guys.

I,m debating weather to use the Cityflyer (route A11) bus too & from the hotel, I understand that the journey to the hotel drops you off before, could you tell which stop this is?
I also understand that on the return journey it picks you up at the hotel, is this correct?
and by using the octopus card your entitled to 50% off the return fair.
I don't want to pay more than I have too, but can you suggest a more simpler way to get to the hotel if there is one for around the same amount of money.

Thanks in Advance.

Going by this route is the cheapest way. Did you check Citybus' website: http://www.citybus.com.hk/eng/RouSer/RouteSearch/busroute_info.asp?route=A11&routetype=D&company=5
There are photos of each stop.
If you are still unsure, better to check with the hotel for more detailed directions.

I think you need to check the link above. It provides with very good information. Also, on the bus, all stops are clearly announced and some of the biggest hotels mentioned that lie in the vicinity.

The bus doesn't pick you up from the hotel but the stop should be right along the main road in front of the Metropark.

The 50% discount only applies to same-dame return trips, not if you take it a week or so later. It's still gonna be the cheapest way to get from/to the airport... the next best alternative would be the Airport Express but that's gonna cost you more than double one-way.

HK's public transportation is fast, cheap and reliable, so don't worry to much.

Cheers,
Robert
