Value for money in Mongkok
Metropark Hotel Mongkok is a good choice of hotel to stay in as it has a very convenient location and reasonable price
It has great access to public transport as the airport bus stops in front of the hotel (saves you the cost of airport express train at HKD 100 or taxi ride which would cost around HKD 250+) as well as MTR which is just across the street.
The staff were helpful and friendly. I found the checking-in and out processes were done quite swiftly so hassles.
The room was clean and roomy for HK standards (and the price I paid for).
The hotel also has a nice choice of breakfast buffet.
Ladies market is only a short walk away (or one stop away by MTR) and there are a lot of restaurants nearby.
Unique Quality: Great location, clean and spacious room

Convenience
The standard room is pretty small with 2 single bed and a tv set with mini fridge.
Getting to Metropark Hotel - Mongkok from the Hong Kong International Airport is a breeze. Just hop onto the public transportation Airbus (CityFlyer) A21 outside the airport and it will take you direct to the hotel doorstep. Purchasing your Octopus Card prior to that at the Arrival Hall is also a breeze. Journey is about 35 minutes. Read about it under Transportation in this blog.
On checking-in to our rooms, room service presented fruit basket and unlock the doors to our connecting rooms. With the doors fully opened, the passage way to the toilet and main door is partially blocked.
The room is equipped with wifi (prepaid) and wired internet (chargeable) and 1 3-pins 220V power outlet. Charging multiple electronic equipment is troublesome.
I found the bed to be hard. The room is supplied with 2 bottles of distilled water (HK$10 per bottle) when you can purchase it just round the corner of the hotel for HK$3. Jasmine tea is complimentary while all else are chargeable.
Toiletries include 2 set of toothbrush with toothpaste, standard shampoo, bath foam, soaps and towels.
Special TV channels to movies are available at a charge.
Unique Quality: Doorstep away from Prince Edward MTR station and the hotel is right in front of Airbus A21 bus-stop.
Plenty of economical shops, restaurant, eating houses around the hotel.

CONCOURSE HOTEL, MONGKOK
Metropark Hotel Mongkok is conveniently located in Mongkok, the city centre of Hong Kong. This is a good 3 star hotel with an excellent location on Hong Kong Kowloon and recommended for those on budget. This is a modern concrete 15-storey building in brown color. This hotel is located in Prince Edward, conveniently only one minute walk from the MTR station.
Unique Quality: In addition, the bus terminal for long distance coach to Mainland China is just next to the hotel. Shuttle bus to the airport is available. Ladies' Market and Fa Yuen Street, (places for clothing at bargaining prices) and other tourist attractions such as Aquariums Market, Bird Garden and Flower Market are within walking distance from the hotel. This hotel is located in a lively areas in a tradition shopping street.

Not Your Ordinary Tourist Hotel
The stay was nice. The hotel itself is in a good location near Prince Edward MTR. It is a more colorful area where the locals inhabit. The service was nice, rooms quiet, and the beds were decent. There were also non-smoking accomodations available. It is certainly not your five-star accomodation, but it is tolerable.
One caveat is that it is a busy tourist hotel for mainland China...many tour groups. So the hotel fills fast and the better rates are going to be through the web rather than contacting them directly. My aunt in Hong Kong recommended the hotel. I found that it was much less expensive for me to book it through the web rather than for her to do it directly. I have included the website where I got my booking for this hotel. They offered the best rate in comparison to other sites that I had visited for the same time period and same hotels.
Unique Quality: Nice restaurant and lounge inside hotel. Internet service available. Small shops line the downstairs corridor. It is in close proximity to the MTR. If you are headed to mainland China, it is right across the street from several bus agencies. Convienent to walk to the Bird and Flower market. Within walking distance to Ladies Market. Right on the bus route from the airport (the A21 bus). The hotel itself also offers airport transfer (with a charge).

Metropark Hotel Mongkok for 5 nights stay
Anyone has experience with this hotel. I am keen to book this hotel for my trip in July but scared would be a bad choice.
Re: Metropark Hotel Mongkok for 5 nights stay
Hi,
I've been to Hong Kong several times but not to this hotel. However, Tripadvisor.com ranks the Metropark as #15 out of 147 hotels in Hong Kong. The overall rating is 4.5 stars out of 5 stars. Seems like a good choice. There are 169 traveler reviews to read.
Tripadvisor.com is a resource I use frequently for these kinds of questions. There are sometimes a few user reviews that are out of sync with the majority, so take those with a grain of salt. I've found some really nice hotels with the help of their website.
