Great location and clean rooms
by TripAdvisor Member grasal001
We have just returned from the Novotel Nathan Road after 7 nights and are happy with our stay. The hotel is in a great location with Jordan MTR station only a quick walk away.
There is a 7/11 for convenience over the road as well as a hairdresser, as my wife loves having her hair washed and dried whilst on holidays.
Don't bother with the breakfast as it is very expensive and doesn't have much variety.
Check in staff are all helpful as are all hotel staff and rooms are clean and our non smoking room was as expected with a KS bed, and good shower pressure.
The bar has a happy hour from 6 ish to 8 ish and only for beer and a bit sterile.
All in all a great stay, but if you eat and drink elsewhere which is no problem in HK you will have a great stay like we did.
You must go to hong kong

Wow Hong Kong was fantastic we arrived on the 1st of January 09 from 6 nights in singapore. We had only 2 hours sleep the night before because of a noisy hotel in singapore on New Years Eve. Novotel nathan road was very very clean but very very small do not put 3 people including kids in one room you will be sorry, I am very fussy where I stay but I would be back there in a heart beat. We stayed in a premier floor room on the 15th floor no need to pay for premier floor my son stayed on the 12 floor in a superior room, all the rooms are the same it is just that you get breaky in a special room on the 15th, we ate breaky on floor 1 in the cafe instead because you have more variety than upstairs, the only extra you get is broadband for free and afternoon tea which is not worth it. This hotel is in the heart of it all and close by are all the markets. We are Accor advantage members and they fell over backwards for us. We were very very comfortable even though the bathroom was the size of a broom cupboard no joke but dont let that turn you off... Top Hotel.
Great Hotel, Modern, Clean and Great Location

My partner and I have just returned from a 4 day trip to Hong Kong. After much searching on the internet for hotels in Hong Kong before we left, we discovered the Novotel Nathan Road Hotel through TripAdvisor. I am so glad we did, we were up on a high floor and although the view is not much to see, mainly rooftops, it was a sanctuary for us away from the hustle and bustle of Nathan Road. This hotel is very modern with very nice rooms, built in LCD TV, modern furnishings and a nice bathroom. The rest of the hotel is just as nice, very spacious lobby with Internet access, bar and restaurant. We checked in very late at night and found the staff to be really friendly and happy. As for location, this hotel is right on Nathan Road which is in itself a great bonus. We walked everywhere but buses run right past the door and train stations are not far away. The Temple Street Night Markets are a stones throw from the hotel and the Star Ferry Wharf and harbour are about a 15 minute walk. This hotel is not really family friendly in the sense that the rooms are not enormous (although I believe much larger than typical Hong Kong hotel rooms) and there are little if any activities for children but for us it was ideal.
Best location for shopping ever!!!

1. Getting there: An easy 5 minute walk from the MTR station. But you'd have to have your address handy because there is so much going on at Nathan Rd where you get out of the station that you can get confused easily. Get to the traffic lights and look at the street signs to see which way is the address. The entrance is down a side street (few metres only).
2. Check-in: Very fast, hassle-free. No worries. They even gave me a late checkout for the next day on the spot coz I checked in quite late on.
3. The room: Very small. But understandable. This is the best possible place for a hotel in Hong Kong.
The bathroom is really small too but at least there is a space for everything. However the shower did leak into the bathroom which became "really cold and wet floor" a bit later.
The wardrobe is a bit too small. Good thing we were only there overnight and we left our luggage at the other hotel.
Nice decor in the room. The bedhead was a bit strange though - looks like a giant picture frame. But I think the bedside tables were a little too small.
The view from the window looked down to Nathan Rd. There's a big department store across the road - Wing On. You get to see all the lights at night. Very urban. Very Chinatown.
4. Amenities: A lot of the normal items were not in the room and you'd have to ask housekeeping for it - hairdryer, bathrobe, iron, etc. But when we asked for it, we were rewarded with a really nice fluffy bathrobe. Score!!
Bathroom amenities are all there. The usual Novotel stuff. No problem there.
5. Location: Perfect for shopping. The street is full of little Chinese herb shops and tonnes of little eateries. Perfect for the ubiquitous bowl of wonton noodles in Hong Kong. There are 2 big department stores within a few minute's walk - Wing On and Yue Hwa.
The MTR station is 5 minutes walk away.
Temple Street night market is open till midnight and is only 5 minute's walk away (and the walk was super easy, even for hubby who just had a knee ligament replacement operation 2 months ago).
And the food!!! Perfect for the budget conscious. Little hole-in-the walls every 20m.
6. Restaurants: We ate at the international buffet restaurant. Compared to other hotels in the region, it was quite expensive. Dinner especially. But they had a few special items during dinner - foie gras, wagyu beef, a great Indian curry and naan section, Haagen Daas ice-cream, and a great display of bomb Alaska.
Overall nicely decorated hotel, everything was wonderful except the room was a bit small but I was ok with it. But wish the food wasn't so expensive.....
A great face lift!

After the Novotel took over the old Majestic, we didnt hesitate to try out this property for ourshort visit in Kowloon. Previously we stayed nearer to the heart of TST but those rooms were so tired looking so for the similar price range, we certainly thought the Novotel is a much more attractive option.
The general ambiance at the lobby is modern and bright. The check-in process was a bit of a mess because of the high occupancy at the time and our rooms werent ready till 4pm. However, we were rather pleased with the newly renovated room, fully equipped with up to date amenities and best of all, we felt refreshing. The only problem we encountered was the size of the room which is really limited ,,, but that's typical of HK hotels. To be fair, if we need space, we should be pushing our budget up for the Peninsula or something along that line. Overall, it was a decent stay!
Superb Design, Good Service - Not Best Value
by TripAdvisor Member Simon1944
The modern design of all the public areas and rooms is superb. There is 20 minutes free internet access per day via i-macs in the lobby and it costs 30 HK$ for each additional 20 minutes. The room was very compact and if my wife had been with me we'd have found it too small - but it was fine for one person. Maid service was prompt and comprehensive. I have no criticism of any aspect of this hotel - but after taking breakfast at the Eaton, one short block away, and checking its rates I think the Eaton offers better value. Both the Eaton and the Novotel are close to the Jordan subway stop and Temple Street Night Market - great locations.
Good hotel

My wife and I travel to Hong Kong once every 2 to 3 year for vacation but most of the time we stayed at relatives before we are married.
This is the first Hong Kong hotel we stayed extended period of time from (Nov 21-26 and Dec 30-6) during this trip in 2008 and most likely use again next visit to Hong Kong.
Very convenient - walking distance to MTR (subway) and next to Nathan Road (close to food and shopping, also Temple street is across from the hotel)
Clean and modern- I think this is the newest addition Novotel in Hong Kong with newly renovated rooms. Rooms are very modern but most importantly, rooms are not too small, we have 3 full size luggages and still we can walk around.
Friendly and helpful hotel staff - During this trip to Hong Kong, we decieded to take a 5 days tour to Hokkaido, Japan. The hotel stored our extra luggage away without any problems and always answers our questions in a courteous manner.

Shenzhen to Novotel Nathan Road
by urbanmale_tods
Sorry slight amendments to my travel plan and I would like to find out :
1. If I am travelling in from SZ via KCR and wanted to get to Novotel Nathan Road, where should I alight? ( Mongkok East or Hung Hom? )
2. How much will the taxi fare be from the train station in (1) to get to the hotel?
Thanks

Your best bet would be to change at Kowloon Tong and take the metro. That goes to Yaumatei, then it's a walk from there'(maybe 300m). Or change there to go one more stop to Jordan, and its less of a walk back. Google maps shows it clearly.
