I've stayed there 2X and I really like it. It's right above the train ( MTR) station. Rooms are generous, clean. Hotel food ok, but over priced, but there are a whole bunch of small Chinese places to get breakfast right behind the hotel. Breakfast cost me $4. US. There's also a grocery store and a 7/11 1/2 block away. There's laundry down the street, it cost me $6 US. to do about 4 pounds of laundry ,that was done in a couple of hours, and the hotel would have charged me that for only 1 pair of pants!
The hotel is at the corner of Kowloon park, which is a great place for some exercise or just a walk. It's really beautiful . I don't have a park view room, but I'm sure it would be beautiful. And a short walk to Tsim Sha Tsui shopping area, and Temple street night market. Much better than staying in the shopping areas, which has become super crowded and over priced. It's across from Yu Wha, Chinese Dept . Store, which is filled with trinkets! And behind Yu Wha are a couple of streets with great local sea food restaurants.
There's a decent pool, but not much of a health club/ workout area.
To get there, I suggest taking the bus. I think it's $15. US , door to door. The train is a pain with luggage, you have to change trains, and there are a million steps. It's not what you want to do after a long flight. After you get settled go to the MTR ( subway) and get a day pass or an Octupus card to ride the train everywhere else. Go to the attendent booth , they give change and it's the best. If you pay 150 HK ( about $18 US) you can get a stored value pass and you can use it at the 7/11 to buy stuff there too, they also have cheaper ones as well. It's about $ 1-1.50 US to take the subway each trip , and you can use the card on the ferry and busses, etc.
Hope this helps!
Unique Quality: Convenient! Clean, well run.

Opened in 1991, Pruton Prudential Hotel is located right above Jordan MTR Station, comprising two superb food and beverages outlets with a spectacular view overlooking the glittering Nathan Road. In the heart of Tsimshatsui, an area full of shopping and tourist venues.
Unique Quality: The hotel provides direct access to the Mass Transit Railway System, a six-storey shopping arcade and offers spectacular view of the territory from the Observatory Tower. An elegantly designed hotel, it offers luxurious guestrooms and suites. Room include air conditioning, private well-appointed bathroom, in room safe and a host of modern conveniences.

Very comfortable, well located with the underground access in the lower floor of the hotel. Dined in the restaurant for breakfast, this being a well featured buffet at a reasonable price, staff were most helpful.
One draw back is the ability to try a telephone overseas, of the 5 days I was unable to make any form of international call. Checked with the desk, and pretty well got sold on the local phone card as it was explained to me it would be very expensive to call from room, I would have thought that was my problem.
Other drawback, but not hotel problem, is the amount of sidewalk hawkers trying to sell you tailor made suits, becomes very repeatous after 5 days.
Unique Quality: Good views from the roof viewing platform, close to all shops, good fun walking up and down Nathan road, Temple street markets are 10 min walk away.
Best thing for me was the ability to catch the Underground from hotel basement, I could be in Wan Chi in 10 mins from hotel.
Directions: Nathan Road, Shops, Restaurants,
It was quite pleasant, although the air-cond is a little too cold, even for a Canadian like me who is used to our cold winter. Housekeeping service was good. In general, staff was pleasant and polite.
Unique Quality: Just your usual run-of-the-mill hotel in Hong Kong. Nothing spectacular about it, unless you want to consider the external elevators an unique feature.
Directions: Stop at Jordan subway station. The hotel is right above the station above a three-storey shopping centre.
Prudential Hotel Hong Kong is situated in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, an area full of shopping and tourist venues. The hotel provides direct access to the Mass Transit Railway System and a six-storey shopping arcade. The hotel offers spectacular views of the territory from the Observatory Tower. An elegantly designed hotel, it offers luxurious guestrooms and suites equipped with high-standard facilities.
A reasonably priced hotel centrally located on Nathan Road over the Jordan MTR underground station. Star Ferry to Victoria Island, main shopping malls of Ocean Terminal and Langham Place plus the restaurants of Knutsford Steps are all within 10 mins walking distance
Unique Quality: Clean rooms with mini-bar, desk and TV. Not a lot of space for storing clothes apart from a small hanging area. The pool on the roof was a good size but a little noisy with all the air con units.

Researched on the Internet regarding the hotel before my trip. Not many comments were found. This hotel was recommended by my friend's friend who is a HongKonger. What a sound recommendation !
Location:
Located right on top of Jordan MTR Station...a convenient stay and well connected to other parts of Hong Kong. The length of the MTR trip from Jordan MTR to furthest station was only 40 mins. In addition, there are a lot of eateries and shopping areas around the hotel. We have the biggest haul from the shopping center right at Prudential Center, the "attached" shopping mall to the hotel.
Cleanliness:
Generally Clean and Housekeeping was very effective. Our room was made in a short time span of 30 mins while we went for breakfast! The lobby smells of smoke though, due to the customers smoking at the lobby.
Breakfast:
The breakfast selection was not too good. We stayed for 4 days and the spread was the same for the 4 days. However, the taste of the food was not bad.
Facilities:
There is a swimming pool that closes during the lunch hour and closes early at night. So we did not get to use it.
Directions: Hong Kong, Kowloon. Along Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui
Located at one of the best place...just below is Jorden train/subway station. If it rains, u have to be happy that your hotel is located there!
- Convenience as it is on the main island and particular the subway/train station
- Breakfast is okay. But who needs breakfast when there are loads outside (cheaper too!)
- Rooms are abit OLD
- Price is expensive but then HK's rooms are normally small and expensive
Directions: Jorden Subway/Train station
The worst 4-star hotel in the world. $167 per night for a standard room, lousy decoration (great photo job on their web site), cold reception service. Location is OK, close to Temple Night Market and at the beginning of the Shim Shat Sui. You can walk down the Nathan Road all the way to the harbour and have a pleasant time, until you come back to your pricey room.
Unique Quality: Nothing is unique, or of quality for that matter. 4 star minimums, hair dryer, kettle, two single beds, marble bathroom, that's it. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. While this amazing city has a lot to offer you really don't want to end your possibly wonderful day in a hotel like this.
Walking distance to Temple Night Market (which is another waste of time anyways)
Directions: On Jordan Rd., Kawloon Side
I stayed at the Prudential Hotel recently during Chinese New Year. It was my first time staying at this hotel which was recommended to me by my travel agent. Being the peak holiday period, my usual favourite hotels in Tsim Sha Tsui were fully booked. This hotel is located directly beside Jordan MTR station and is a 10-minute walk to the Temple Street night market.
Unique Quality: I like the hotel for its good location - next to Jordan MTR station and its proximity to Tsim Sha Tsui and the Temple Street night market. The room that I had was quite standard for a tourist class hotel. However, the room maintenance was not up to standard - there were stains in the bathtub and there was insufficient shampoo and shower gel in the dispensers.
Directions: Just beside Jordan MTR station. The hotel is directly connected to the Jordan MTR station.
Hi Vters, can anyone help me on how should a family of 4 get from the Prudential to the airport?
1. By Airport Express - where is the nearest free shuttle pick up from my hotel. Found Tak Shung School at Jordan Station but not reflected on my tourist map. Anyone know if it is far from my hotel? Or is it nearer for me to catch the bus at Eaton Hotel nearby?
Decided to chose Airport Express as it is fast, and beat the traffic during peak hours to the airport. Moreover, they have special deals for 4 at only HK220.
2. I welcomed other suggestions to the airport as well. Is it more convenient to catch the A21 Express from Prudential Hotel entrance? Does the bus stops here for this route to the airport?
3. My last resort would be then the boring taxi ride because I hope to experience something more HK than a car ride away for my return leg.
Thanks, all replies are welcomed :)
Personally, I like the City flyer bus, the bus stop is across the street on Nathen Road from the hotel, it's $33x4=$132. Save that money for snack at the new terminal two at the airport. You can verify the exact bus stop location with the hotel staff.
Hi Tuff & Other Virtual Tourist
If I need to transfer from HK airport with the City Bus Service A21, is the alighting point near the Prudential Hotel? Or I need to walk a distance?
Any other way to get from the airport to Prudential Hotel?
From Airport to Prudential Hotel:
After you exit from custom, you may use the ATM or exchange currency, turn right and exit the terminal, there is a bus terminal there, look for the ticket booth and purchase your tickets, obtain a city flyer bus route map while you are at the ticket booth, the bus will stop in front of Prudential Hotel,(stop #11 on that route, however, do not count the stops as the bus may skip some stops, watch the ticker tape or monitor for information. Send me an e-mail if you need more information. Enjoy HK.
