Kawloon Disaster

The worst 4-star hotel in the world. $167 per night for a standard room, lousy decoration (great photo job on their web site), cold reception service. Location is OK, close to Temple Night Market and at the beginning of the Shim Shat Sui. You can walk down the Nathan Road all the way to the harbour and have a pleasant time, until you come back to your pricey room.

Unique Quality: Nothing is unique, or of quality for that matter. 4 star minimums, hair dryer, kettle, two single beds, marble bathroom, that's it. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. While this amazing city has a lot to offer you really don't want to end your possibly wonderful day in a hotel like this.

Walking distance to Temple Night Market (which is another waste of time anyways)

Most convenient hotel for Temple Street market

I stayed at the Prudential Hotel recently during Chinese New Year. It was my first time staying at this hotel which was recommended to me by my travel agent. Being the peak holiday period, my usual favourite hotels in Tsim Sha Tsui were fully booked. This hotel is located directly beside Jordan MTR station and is a 10-minute walk to the Temple Street night market.

Unique Quality: I like the hotel for its good location - next to Jordan MTR station and its proximity to Tsim Sha Tsui and the Temple Street night market. The room that I had was quite standard for a tourist class hotel. However, the room maintenance was not up to standard - there were stains in the bathtub and there was insufficient shampoo and shower gel in the dispensers.

Convenient Location

Rooms were basic but of a reasonable size and quite comfortable. Mine was like the one in the photo. There wasn't much of a view. Service was satisfactory.

I wouldn't mind staying here again during my returns to Hongkong.

Recommended if you are not very particular about accommodation.

Unique Quality: It was chosen for the convenient location - smack in the middle of Nathan Road, as well as for the low price.
Easy access to shopping areas. You can shop go back to the room to drop off the bags and continue shopping.
Food places are easy to find. Just across the street is a row of local cafeterias.
The airport shuttle stops just around the corner.

Peace & Quieter @ Jordan: Pruton Prudential

I stayed here in 1999 on my first trip to HK. Then it was a very nice hotel. The rooms were clean, orderly and I like the decor. Instead of having normal curtains, the hotel had opted to use sliding panels. I thought it was pretty avant garde. Service was warm and I like the location, as the hotel is right atop of Jordan MTR station (meaning I need not even bother to come out onto the streets).
Afternote: Unfortunately, reviews about this hotel is recent years had taken a major dip...so you may want to double-check.

Unique Quality: I like the sliding panel windows and the location as Jordan is considerably quieter than Mong Kok and Tsim Tsa Tsui.

pruton prudential hotel

this hotel is situated right above jordan mtr. there's a mtr exit directly below the hotel. the rooms are bigger than usual hotels in hk. jade market is easily accesible from the hotel and there's a bus stop just directly outside the hotel and most of the buses at this bus stop goes to the star ferry terminal. u can actually walk down to tsim sha tsui area from here. there's a swimming pool on the top of the hotel but coz there are a few buildings taller than the hotel beside it, there's not exactly much privacy in that pool. anyway this hotel is value for money for the room comfort and location.

I stayed at the Prudential...

I stayed at the Prudential Hotel on Nathan Road. It was clean and rather modern.
Our room had an enormous king sized bed, and a writing desk too.

It was comfortable, and they even provided bedroom slippers.

This hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to many shops and the famous Tsim Sha Tsui area. There are many shopping and dining options all around.

Prudential Hotel to Airport

by urbanmale_tods

Hi Vters, can anyone help me on how should a family of 4 get from the Prudential to the airport?

1. By Airport Express - where is the nearest free shuttle pick up from my hotel. Found Tak Shung School at Jordan Station but not reflected on my tourist map. Anyone know if it is far from my hotel? Or is it nearer for me to catch the bus at Eaton Hotel nearby?

Decided to chose Airport Express as it is fast, and beat the traffic during peak hours to the airport. Moreover, they have special deals for 4 at only HK220.

2. I welcomed other suggestions to the airport as well. Is it more convenient to catch the A21 Express from Prudential Hotel entrance? Does the bus stops here for this route to the airport?

3. My last resort would be then the boring taxi ride because I hope to experience something more HK than a car ride away for my return leg.

Thanks, all replies are welcomed :)

Personally, I like the City flyer bus, the bus stop is across the street on Nathen Road from the hotel, it's $33x4=$132. Save that money for snack at the new terminal two at the airport. You can verify the exact bus stop location with the hotel staff.

Hi Tuff & Other Virtual Tourist

If I need to transfer from HK airport with the City Bus Service A21, is the alighting point near the Prudential Hotel? Or I need to walk a distance?

Any other way to get from the airport to Prudential Hotel?

From Airport to Prudential Hotel:
After you exit from custom, you may use the ATM or exchange currency, turn right and exit the terminal, there is a bus terminal there, look for the ticket booth and purchase your tickets, obtain a city flyer bus route map while you are at the ticket booth, the bus will stop in front of Prudential Hotel,(stop #11 on that route, however, do not count the stops as the bus may skip some stops, watch the ticker tape or monitor for information. Send me an e-mail if you need more information. Enjoy HK.
