"Cheap" 5-star

The Regal Hong Kong Hotel is a five-star hotel situated in Causeway Bay near the southern point of Victoria Park. It's also well located for the MTR station, the shopping malls of SOGO and Times Square and many restaurants, cafes and shops in the Causeway Bay area.

The room I had (which was one of the cheapest), was fairly small for five-star standards but was lavishly decorated with lots of mirrors, paintings and such like and had all the comforts that you would come to expect such as large TV, mini-bar, tea/coffee making facilities, broadband connection, safe, hairdryer, air-con, phone etc. The bathroom was very nice and quite spacious with a separate large shower cubical as well as a corner bath. As I had one of the cheap rooms, breakfast wasn't included in the price which I think is a bit of a rip-off. You have to spend a lot of money on a room upgrade in order to have breakfast included. The hotel features some nice restaurants such as an Italian and a Chinese one plus a bar and patisserie. About the only facility I used was the roof-top swimming pool which was free but there's also a gym, business centre and coffee shop. Check-in was fairly quick whilst check-out was lightning quick. Not a bad 5-star option which is far cheaper than others in Hong Kong but I was expecting a little more.

by Lemoni

Hello!

I am travelling to Hong Kong in late July and am considering staying at the Regal Hong Kong Hotel in Causeway Bay.

Does anyone have any feedback on this hotel?

Thanks! :)

Here at VT, type in Hong Kong & select Destinations, this brings up VT tips but it also brings up HK hotel sites. The discount one has a reviews section, have a look.

Thanks for your replies, I actually got a better deal at the Metropark Hotel so I will be staying there.
I know its a little further out but I figure the extra walk to Causeway Bay will do me good with all the delicious food I will be sampling in HK!!

The pictures for the Metropark hotel look so much better than the Regal. But I also heard that the rooms are a bit smaller. Still it looks very nice. Plus you get free WiFi. Perfect if you are bringing a laptop. =)
