I Pad

by lifecoach

Does anyone know typically how much the I Pad is in Hong Kong and where is the best place to go to buy it for best price.
Thanks :-)

Not sure of the price, but inexpensive computers and games can be shopped at the Golden Computer Arcade next to the Sham Shui PO MTR station---good hunting!

You'll find the prices at Apple stores in Hong Kong here, and you can buy it at large electronic stores. Reliable ones include Broadway and Fortress, which can be usually found inside shopping malls.

I agree with the poster above that fortress and broadway has the best prices. Depending on the harddrive (GB) the prces vary. About 650USD. avg. I always find prices high for electronics when in H K and never buy cameras or electronics overseas...then I always worry about electricity and compatiabilities and least of all if they are a fake. But if buying from a reputiable store there is on problem, Cheers Tommy x

The other thing worth looking at is if buying in Hong Kong means you will not have a warranty in your home country. Most warranties from major electronics manufacturers are not valid outside of the country where you bought the device.

That is something I would look into (and don't trust the salesman - they will always tell you that the warranty is good everywhere).

Thanks everyone, I think after all your advise I will pass on getting electronics

Visit the Themepark. It is not the best Themepark in the world but it is a day away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded centre. Although Hong Kong is fabulous for the first time visitor, you do run out of things to do after about three days, so a visit to the Themepark is a 'breath of fresh air'.

Since I used to live in Hong Kong, I love everything, especially, shopping and eating. A lot of cheap eats, but most of the are pretty hard-core Chinese food (extremely yummy) unlike fake Chinese food like American-Chinese food. The night scene from the peak, is free, is amazing!

Hong Kong International Airport

by xuessium

This is the airport that has been voted consecutively Best Airport in the world for 2 years running (2004-2005) by SKYTRAX members and voters.

A self contained airport with plenty of shops for shopping and friendly utilities. Possibly one of the few things that is actually good at in HK which I have nothing negative to say about.

Tsim Sha Tsui

by luciano

Go to Tsim Sha Tsui in the Kowloon peninsula, either for lodging (see my Accommodation tip) or eating. Everything is cheaper than in the island, and you can cross by metro or ferry in minutes.
A little bit of 'visual pollution', though, as you can see, but that's interesting also.
