City Apartment: Family Budgeted Accomodation

by bsshenoy

I just returned with family of 4, we booked in YIUFAIGUEST HOUSE in TST area. You can contact Mr. Raymond Tran e-mail: [reservation@yiufaiguesthouse.com. The rooms are decent, clean and Mr. Raymond speaks good english and is very helpful. We paid 450 HKD each night

Shenoy

Cleaniness
Closeness to Metro / Bus and other areas.
Easy to go to Airport as bus stops opposite to the guest house.
Safe and secure.

Mirador Apartments: Cheap but basic

by deeper_blue

Mirador Apartments is on the busy Nathan Road, up on the 13th floor of a crowded apartment block, in mixed rooms you can expect a satisfactory bed with shared bathroom (the smallest I've seen) with a lingering odour of something not so fresh. Still at the price can't really complain!

Regal Oriental Hotel: Regal Oriental

by ChrisP_UK

I can't believe this is a four star hotel.
The room smelt, the air conditioning wouldn't turn off, the breakfast was horrible and overcrowded, the in room wireless internet did not work and although it was a non smoking room, the walls were yellow from nicotine
The rooms here could of used a refurbishment in 1985.
The local area looks rough but if you do end up stuck here, look around, it isn't actually that bad.
Of course with the quality of the rooms you will want to go for a walk just to get out of them!
Stay away, but not from the Regal brand, the Regal Kowloon was much better!

It didn't have any cockroaches.

SHAMROCK HOTEL: Value for money

by ROCKARIA

I have stayed at the Shamrock hotel for 8 weeks during my scholarship studies in hongkong. The hotel is quite value for money considering other prices of similar hotels nearby.
should you walk around the corner you can find plenty of restaurants and eating places but most of the time i was a regular at Pizza hut!
Enjoy

Holiday Inn Golden Mile: close to everything

by sirgaw

Well-known brand - Holiday Inn Golden Mile - has a great setting on busy Natham Road, Kowloon, and surrounded by, it seems, too many shops. Favoured position right beside the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR (rapid transit railway) station.

The hotel has 17 floors and 2 basements. The basements contain a number of high end shops and eateries. The ground floor is a sea of marble flooring and walls with the usual reception and check in areas and a guest lounge. Small parking area is at rear where there is adequate bus and taxi waiting/unloading areas.

Main restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner is on first floor and overlooks Natham Road.

Upper floors are executive rooms and the business centre with roof top swimming pool and small gynamsium.

Cosmic Guesthouse

by dawn_charlotte

Getting to Cosmic Guesthouse from HK International airport was very easy, just take A21 city bus and take off at the 13th bus stop, walk straight ahead for just few meters and you'll fin Mirador Mansion standing on your left.

The room that we rented in Cosmic Guesthouse was a room for 2 which has a 2 bunk beds, clean sheets and comforter, A/C, private cr (small but ok) has hot and cold shower, trashbin, tv (chinese speaking shows the only english show that we were able to watch is the discovery channel... hmmm so education huh? =) heheheh) Ooppsss... by the way the room for 2 that we got last november of 2007 was 200hkd/night.. not bad huh?

Rowena, the manager was so friendly, she gave us a bottle of mineral water after we get our keys from her. take note also that the electric plug in hk is not at the same in the philippines so you have to borrow an adaptor from Rowena, he asked for 10hkd deposit for that but it will be returned once you return the adaptor. Put the voltage is the same its 220v.
Sorry, i dont have pics of the room that we rented. but trust me its ok for budget travellers like us =) The place is so convinient, it is very near Tsim Sha Tsui station... hope i got the spelling right...

Mirador Mansion: home to many 'cubicle' hostels

by bpwarne

The Mirador Mansion Building, on Nathan Road, very near the harbour, is home to many, many small popular hostels. While the building is definitely a huge eyesore, it is very convienently located to most major tourist sights, if you are looking for strategically located, cheap lodging, and if you can see beyond it's outward shabbiness, the Mirador Mansion may very well suite you. Check hostels.com, hostelz.com and hostelworld.com for available hostels in this building.

One of the ugliest buildings on Nathan Road, aka: The Miracle Mile.

Free Walker Guesthouse: Is this place tiny or what?

by bpwarne

I stayed at this inn for two nights in April, 2008. I paid about $30USD/night total for a private, single ensuite. Room was very clean, nicely appointed and appeared recently remodeled and had a small TV, A/C, bath towel, bath ammemities such as soap, shampoo, toothbrush, and no window. The host, Annie, was very amiable and helpful.
My room was very tiny, about 6 ft x 6 1/2 ft, not including the bath, which was about another 6 ft by 3 ft in size. This is typical of these 'cubicle hostels' found throughout Hong Kong. While they can be an attractive short term alternative to a conventional hotel room, which is hard to find for less than about $100USD, they can quickly become quite claustraphobic after only a few days.
