Terrible (1.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on July 20, 2013

why do these hongkies think they own the world? The hotel staff do not even smile as if they paid for my stay. Hey I am even more educated than you and you treat me like you own me?? close your hotel now. You do not know the meaning of HOSPITALITY????
Then do not work in this area.

Unique Quality: below mediocre.

A nice retreat, from the crowds...

by written on December 14, 2002

The Emperor (Happy Valley) Hotel captures the romantic essence of Hong Kong to make your stay a truly memorable experience. In a peaceful corner of Happy Valley on Hong Kong Island, secluded from the crowds, The hotel can be found in one of Hong Kong's premier residential areas. Yet it is located only minutes away from shopping, dining and entertainment, as well as the Mass Transit Railway, Hong Kong's underground.

Unique Quality: Some (only some) of the rooms have decent bath tubs, with working shower heads. Besides that, the rooms are really nice. The higher floors have nicer views. A room costs HK$350 (US$45)/night (airline industrial discount), plus 13% taxes (end of summer is considered a low season). I think I got upgraded to a deluxe room, not a standard one.

Directions: Happy Valley, (behind) closeby Causeway Bay (10-15 mins walk), gr8 transportation near the hotel (across the street)
