I am going HK for the first time and I need some help with my itinerary!
1) Is the planning travel efficient?
2) Which hostel/hotel should I stay at for the 2 separate dates that I will be in HK?

QN: Which hotel/hostel should I stay at for the first 2 nights?
Preferably somewhere near the areas I am visiting & near the MTR!

11th May: reach HK at 8pm.
Go to Temple Street Night Market?

1) Visit Ladies' Market (Tung Choi Street)
2) Sai Yeung Choi street (next to Ladies market)

4) Sportswear Street (Fa Yuen Street)

Stay at the Kowloon Hotel on Nathan Road. Easy bus ride there from airport and easy to get around with Jordon Sation right outside the hotel. Since it is on a main road, you can take buses also. For you girls, there is going to be too much fun. GET OUT TO the sTAR FERRY STATION AND YOU WILL SEE MANY SHOPS AND MALL ALONG THE WATER WAY. Be sure to eat well in the many food shops in town. Go out to Kimberly road also for good cheap food and bars. Have a great time in HK and also in China.

Travel Tips for Hong Kong

Celebrate Your Kid's Birthday At Disneyland

by Aidy_p

If you child is celebrating his/her birthday during that particular month you're visiting Disneyland, do not forget to ask for a birthday badge. The child will be warmly greeted from the word go. We had the band play for us a birthday song, the elves dancing along with the kids, and different disney characters coming up to us to wish my daughter a happy birthday. I'm truly impressed by their very well-trained staff who, in an instance, would come by and wish my daugther a happy birthday. It all just boils down to a badge that they see. So bring your child to Disneyland during the month of his/her birthday. Guaranteed they will remember their special birthday treat for life.

Convenience Store

by kwanmichelle

there are 3 convenience store operators in hong kong, these convenience stores open 24/7. there are more than 7-eleven convenience stores in hong kong. it's easy to spot. just look for this sign. basically it's in every MTR Station. but those in the MTR stations don't operate 24/7.

Well, what can I say, bring an unlimited credit limit on your credit cards, enough cash to make the US money mint look embaressed, and a well oiled pair of legs to walk almost 15km a day. Oh almost forgot, make sure you go to the gym 3 months before you go to Hong Kong, get your body used to carrying heavy weighs (shopping). Everything in Hong Kong is memorable, everything. Every second of your trip to Hong Kong will be hammered, stamped, welded, imprinted, into your brains memory.

by Dick_Loudon

Take the Star Ferry between the Island and Kowloon. Walk up the Golden Mile (Nathan Rd) in Tsimshatsui; Head over to Lantau Island for a change in tempo. Find a Hakka restaurant for Camphor Duck and 'Iron Tea'. Ride the subway and people watch (not at rush hours). Go to one of the nightclubs catering to the large number of Philippine Nannies. Fabulous music and smiles all around you. Food, food, food. Nightlife.

Visitors to Hong Kong must...

by Axel-M

Visitors to Hong Kong must hold a valid passport. Passports should be valid for at least one month after your planned departure date from Hong Kong. For some nationalities, this condition extends to six months. Nationals of most countries are not required to obtain visas for periods varying from seven days to six months, depending on nationality. Check with any Chinese embassy or consulate for the latest status.
Visas for mainland China can be obtained in Hong Kong. They require one photo and usually take three working days to process. Visas can be obtained through the Consulate Department, Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in Hong Kong, China Travel Service (HK) Ltd, or China International Travel Service HK Ltd.
