Friendly little hotel

The hotel lobby was very small but busy, with tourists going in and out. The low ceiling was disturbing and i had a nagging feeling to hope our room will NOT have the same low ceiling. I was starting to feel claustrophobic, and thankfully joined the bellhop to help us to our room. Some travellers have left their luggages for storage with the hotel but apparently the hotel do not have much storage space and the multi-sized luggages are posted in every wall, nook and cranny of the small lobby.

The room was quite small but feels comfortable, toiletries complete and generous and i was quite delighted by the room control pad for all lights and a/c. I even loved the electronic door signs (for clean up, do not disturb...)

Service was given with a smile, the staff a little distant but very polite. At check out, i forgot a small sweater in the room and they took a lot of effort to bring it back to me, by no less than the housekeeping officer of the day.

TSIM SHAT SUI

ark Hotel is ideally situated in the heart of Kowloon's entertainment and business district. Since its opening, Park has earned a respectable reputation for its extensive facilities, attentive services, excellent food and entertainment. Park offers the ultimate in accessibility, comfort, relaxation in the true beauty of metropolitan.

Park's prime location in Tsimshatsui provides unlimited opportunities for bargain-hunting and gives rapid and convenient access to all points of importance in business and pleasure. The MTR (Subway) is just at 5 minutes walking distance, and the Star Ferry Pier to Hong Kong Island and the China Ferry Terminal to major coastal ports is just a short walk away. Furthermore, it only takes you 10 minutes from the Kowloon Station (Airport Express Trains) and KCR Station (Railway to Mainland China).

More about Park Hotel

Stuck in the seventies

by dhod about Park Hotel, Kowloon

The Park is a medium standard 3* hotel, it is based in a good location in Tsim Sha Tsui (the main tourist area) within 15 minutes walking distance of the start ferry and five minutes from the MTR.
The Hotel has good facilities but really needs some refurbishment work, the reception and main public areas are OK but the bedrooms dont appear to have been decorated since the seventies.
The entertainment in the Hotel bar wasn't very good but there are plenty of bars and places to go right on the hotel doorstep including a couple of Irish bars. Good location.

Excellent hotel, reasonably priced

by TripAdvisor Member srbei1

We stayed at the Park Hotel for 7 nights in February. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It is located in the heart of Kowloon and is in walking distance to all the major shopping and tourist areas. The hotel was being renovated so there was a bit of construction equipment around but no noise. Overall its a great place to stay, particularly if you are lucky enough to get one of the brand new rooms.

Much Better Than Expected

by TripAdvisor Member RetiredAussies

After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor we were apprehensive about our stay at the Park Hotel and requested a newly renovated non smoking room.

We were delighted with our room which was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The beds were also far more comfortable than we
had expected. Very quiet rooms and we slept well. Renovations are continuing but with no disturbance to guests. Breakfast was included in our package and with found it excellent with a reasonable choice of dishes.

Do not be put off by the small frontage of the hotel and the small reception area, it is adequate for what you need to do there. It is in an excellent location for sightseeing, shopping, restaurants etc.

Above all the service of all the staff was excellent and very friendly; some of the best we have experienced anywhere.

We would happily stay at the Park on any future visits to Hong Kong.

Great Value

GREAT!!! I was worried after I had read the previous reviews of this hotel when the travel agent booked me in to this hotel for my honeymoon. I have high standards when it comes to accommodation - and was greatly relieved when we checked in. The hotel is beautiful, our room was of a 5 star standard, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the buffett breakfast was divine. I couldn't have asked for more. I would definately stay here again.

park hotel is nice

We stayed at park hotel for 4 days..the day we arrived, there were many guests, but we were given a room right away..we stayed on the 15th floor.asexpected, the room was renovated, the beds ,carpets, bathrooms were new annd clean.no smell at all.the staff were friendly and accomodating. they welcomed us with a basket of fruits,2 bottles of mineral water..the location is great because you can easily reach the mtr station in 5 minutes.outside the hotel, were many store outlets,restaurants..my kids enjoyed staying at the hotel..and i will recommend this hotel.an advantage is that if you will take the airport express upon arriving from the airport,a free shuttle bus will take you straight to the hotel, since park hotel is a member of the "k5" or the five hotels in kowloon which are affiliated to the airport express..

Park Hotel - Excellent Hotel

by TripAdvisor Member EnglandTraveller12

We weren't too sure what to expect as some of the previous reviews hadn't been very good. However, this is an excellent hotel. There is still some ongoing hotel upgrade work being undertaken, but it really isn't a problem as you are out during the day.

The staff were all very helpfu, the room was on the 10th floor and newly renovated. It was very clean and spacious, with the use of a fridge and kettle within the room.

The location is excellent and within easy walking distance of the Star Ferry, MTR and a shoppers heaven - Nathan Road.

Ideal hotel

A pleasant four nights stay in a twin superior room at park hotel from 10th to 14th june'07
Check-in/out : smooth , fast
Service: Excellent, even security guards are friendly.
Room: Clean, bathtub big , room spacious big enough to put your baggages. Not sound proof, you can hear conversations from next room. Purposely left small pieces of paper on the floor, they dont vacuum when housekeeping.
Location: very near to MTR , exit from TST (look out for chatham road south) , after exiting just keep walking straight , you will see the hotel.
Lift: two functioning lifts at the moment, they are adding more lifts.
Beds: Acceptable, not too firm
Tips: Just opposite hotel , you will see deli fresh selling juices.Go for the strawberry juice , not too bad HK10. For laundry, from hotel exit turn right walk straight until u see 7-11 then you turn right into alley , a laundry shop there. 3Kg for about HK28 . From hotel exit , turn left cross the street , you will see toyo mall . Mac is there should you want any breakfast , or Queens bakery which is just next to hotel. Try the peking duck at Spring Deer restaurant along mody road. Or bring your kids for some fun at charlie brown cafe opposite the hotel . Ajisen ramen opposite hotel closes quite late for some supper.

So much better than expected.... will be going back...

What a fantastic 3 star hotel! The service, the room and the location is 4 stars!

We were in HK for 8 nights in total and decided to stay in Park Hotel for 5 nights as I knew it has just been renovated and had some good reviews. What I didn't expect was how friendly and helpful the staff were. All rooms were well furnished with good strong shower.

The location was perfect as it's so close to everything.
All the shops nearby close around 10-11pm and there are plenty of places to eat that open well into the early hours.

We stayed in a 5 stars hotel for the last 3 nights and it was rubbish! The only good thing were the seaview room in TST with a roof top swimming pool. Although the staff were very stuck up and unhelpful. I really wished we stayed at the Park Hotel instead!!

Park Hotel Hong Kong review

by Aussie_Traveller

My partner just returned from HK after staying in the Plaza and I thought people may be interested in his comments.

Jack hammers constantly going throughout the day.
Room absolutely stunk of cigarette smoke although a non smoking room was requested. Rooms otherwise were quite good as far as size went.
Breakfast was rather mundane.
Staff were quite good but hopefully after renovations are completed things will imrove.
I phoned about five times from overseas but was disconnected on three occasions.

Let's hope they improve after renovations are complete and they can sort out their phone issues.
