Stanford Hotel stay

Took a little finding so make sure you have done a search as to where to go first off as we walked to it.. Once found it was very simple .

Hotel excellent value for money, While rooms are small evrything is there .
Found it to be very clean and tidy and staff very good as well. Desk always helpful . No safe in room but security boxes at reception.

Location excellent close to stations Mongkok and Monkok East (train station to get to Shenzhem. Markets buses etc only couple of street away.

Laundry prices not dear but if you want to save there is a laundry shop located just down the street across the road (about 200 metres at the most ) wher $29 HK gets you about 3kgs of washing done against hotels $43 for a tee shirt.

Unique Quality: Location , Mongkok didnt have the touts for suits ect and further down Nathan road did. Shops also had prices marked again further down Nathan Road no prices all in code.
Would stay there again no problem.

1 of Mongkok's nearest hotels to Ladies' St Market

It was a comfortable and convenient 6 nights stay there (1 to 7 Apr 2007).

The reception and housekeeping services were next to excellent. We had what we asked for (eg. non-smoking rooms, baby cot and extra towels for my baby and etc). The rooms were cleaned and things were replenished daily.

I will definitely recommend this hotel to those who like shopping at the Ladies' Market.

Unique Quality: This 194-room hotel is one of the nearest hotels to the Ladies' Street Market with reasonably good views around Mongkok.

Staying Where The Soul Of HK Is

Thou the room is really small, it is cozy and comfortable. The service is good and the staff are really helpful. Would recommend if there's budget constraint.

Shopper's Delight in Mongkok

Many tourists are attracted to Ladies Market because it has some of the best bargains in Hong Kong as well as an abundance of nearby delicious snacks. The two main activities of visiting Hong Kong involve shopping and eating and the Stanford Hotel puts you by the best action, which is why I recommend it for serious shoppers.
This nice hotel only has 194 rooms so it's a good idea to book in advance. Go to their website and check out the "Super Value Offer" which includes a free hour of wireless broadband Internet access, an amenity which is featured in every room.
The location is not too close to the Mongkok MTR station, about 7 blocks away to the southeast, and you have to cut through Ladies Market each time you go back and forth to Nathan Road. However I don't mind the short walk because it helps me burn off some calories from the HK $60 breakfast buffet.

Unique Quality: The proximity to Ladies Market is this hotel's most outstanding distinction. Yet despite the bustling bazaar going on three blocks away to the west you can still get a good night's sleep at its relatively quiet location.
Nearby Fa Yuen Street is an excellent place to buy athletic shoes and sports equipment.
There is an abundance of juice stands in this area of Mongkok including my favorite, Hui Lau Shan, which you can read about on my Hong Kong page.
In fact, there is a Hui Lau Shan fruit dessert shop on the same street Stanford Hotel occupies. (#27 Soy Street)

just 5 mins walk from the very popular ladies street and the bustling mongkok where many people are found shopping.

plenty of small shopping malls and shops by the road nearby.

many many small cafeterias (cha can teng) where you can get hearty meals. roadside stalls selling lotsa snacks are readily available too.
