We cannot find anywhere in South Goa to beat Royal Palms. We are hoping to visit for the third time in2005.
The rooms are sold as B&B , but are one bedroom apartments, with fridge cooker, tv aircon. There is a large pool( pool towels are supplied), Gym ,Resturant ,shop. Outside there are Resturants and shops. The Beach is a good 20 minute walk. or 50 Ruppees in Taxi.
This friendly family-run guesthouse really is a great place to stay. It has singlesand doubles with shared accomodation in the main building, and nice doubles with verandah in the small 'annex'. There is a nice restaurant with reasonably priced breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.
Rosario's Inn is not situated at the beach, but a five-minutes walk from it. This means it is right near some shops and internet huts.
Be careful on the beach road after dark, though, occasional muggings do occur and last year a girl was raped on the beach at 7 pm. Girls, never walk the beach road after dark alone, and everyone should go in groups of at least four. The town proper is fine, though.
The friendliness of the staff, all relatives of Rosario's, is really one of its big assets. You can do your own laundry, or let them do it for a small fee. A taxi is always on call, they offer room service at no extra cost, and will arrange trips for you. Savio, Rosario's nephew, can find out anything for you, from train timings to dolphin trips. They can also arrange bicycles or scooters for you at low rates.
Room rates: Rs 150 per double per night, Rs 200 over Christmas and New Year, unless you have been staying there for over a week by that time. Then your rates stay low.
