Travelling in April

by Jezman

My husband and I are travelling to Goa on 8th April, little concerned that it is the end of season and everthing will be closed !!!

Any hints or tips of places to visit or general travel advice, I think I might take an umbrella anyway.

Things will be going on pretty much as normal at that time, tho' a few may be "shutting up" shop for the season. Lots of tips and hints on the Goa pages here on VT, and,no, you wont need an umbrella.I'm there in April every year and still plenty to see and do.
Regards ...Eddie

well...yes, its towards the end of season...though everything gets totally wrapped up by end of april usually...

if u cant handle the heat, do carry ure umbrella...also some sunblock etc...

u can always visit the temples and churches of goa...very beautiful...and north goa should still have restaurants and shacks dont worry!:)

Hidden BEST place to eat Victor's

by airliefez

This man is a genius. Victor only has 6 tables and you usually have to book the day before, but once you've been, ask for his mobile No and then just ring in the morning to say you would like to eat there on that same evening. Victor owns his own Prawn Farm and the prawns are to die for and cheap compared to anywhere else in the world. He doesn't have a menu as such, tell him what you want and how you want it cooking and bobs your uncle. ITS GORGEOUS. Oh and watch out for Valentino his helper he is fantastic and everyone falls for him.Anyway, his little place is down the Whispering Palms Road, walk past the hotels and the few little stalls as if you are going to the beach, but about 100metres from the beach on your left is, " CANDOLIMS BEST KEPT SECRET" You will never have a seafood platter like it. Try everything he has to offer; Prawn pate on toast, crab starters, vegetable soup, his steaks are as good as any of the top restaurants, Fish of all varieties. Mmmmm I can taste em all just writing this. If you go tell him Roger sent you.....
