Money Exchange

Hi there,

Will be visiting Candolim in Jan, and was wondering what the best way to exchange money is?
Can you tell me is it easier to take cash (although concerned about security issues)or Travellers Cheques (sterling)or Credit card etc.
Is it best to exchange in hotel or elsewhere.

I think the best way is to withdraw cash using a debit card. Be sure to check with your bank for foreign transactions fees or any other fees. Even considering the fees, the rate will probably be better than elsewhere. Travellers Checks are a hassle and many places may not accept them. Cash is fine - just don't carry an exorbitant amount around - security issues shouldn't be a problem. Lots of places to exchange if you decide to do that. Compare prices - generally not very good at a hotel. Enjoy!
