A Surreal Sunset View

We stayed two nights in Goa during the last week in November and had an incredible stay. Because of a delay during check-in, we were upgraded to a cottage which had recently been renovated. The room was incredible with all recent renovations (jacuzzi tub, LCD, surround sound, etc). The staff was very friendly and recommended fun activities for us.

Fort Aguada has it's own private beach, but we walked North along the shore to the grounded tanker to take in more of the area. Lots of locals were offering watersport activities, but they weren't too pushy and subsided after a "no thanks". The red sand of the beach was very different from the sand we were used to in California, although, there wasn't much surf to speak of.

Unique Quality: The pool is probably one of the most stand-out features of the hotel. The far side drops down below edge so it looks like it pours directly into the ocean. There were several restaurants on the properly -- we ate at three of them(Italian, Seafood, and Continental). The Seafood was our favorite.

The hotel provides lots of options for activities. We chose to rock climbing on the premises. There was a large group of early beginners in our group, so we didn't do as much as I'd hoped, but the views were incredible.

Needs some updating!

I didn't stay at the For Aguada Resort, I stayed at its sister property, the Taj Holiday Village. But I went there a couple of times for lunch and to the spa.

It is not as upscale as the Taj Holiday Village and needs some updating. It is rated 5* but it only deserves 4*. The rooms are a bit dated, the swimming pool has a fantastic view but it's not very nice and the gardens are not as well kept as its sister's property.

They have though a very good restaurant that serves excellent seafood and the staff is very attentive and friendly. If you can't afford the Taj Holiday Village go for this one. Its location is fabulous.

Unique Quality: The location and the amazing views from the gardens and pool.

Gorgeous location and worthwhile accomodations

I stayed here for a few nights, and I did like the place. Of course, the first resort that our bus dropped people of at, that had huts, looked far cooler, but this hotel was pleasant, and was in a very nice location. I was just happy to be out of the cities, and to finally be able to see clouds and not have black snot. Unfortunately, I can't provide a price, as I was here on a discount rate, so I dunno...

Unique Quality: This joint did have a pool, beach access, a life-sized chess board and a great little outdoors bar. The food here was pretty damn awesome too. I think I had a soup for dinner, and it really kicked ass (though watch it if you haven't been in India a while totally ignoring all the advice you were given about water, or you may be peeing out your ass a while after soup!).

unparalleled sea views

taj fort aguada beach resort is an award winning hotel.the hospitality at this hotel is amazing. the staff will go out of the way to make you comfortable and see to it that you enjoy your vacation.

the rooms at the hotel may not qualify as opulent according to western luxury standards, but the level of hospitality is good.

the adjoining spa offers good services for rejuvenation therapies.

the cuisine at this hotel from its multicuisine restaurants is really superb.

the highlight is the sumptuous buffet breakfast.

the lobby is central with two wings housing the superior sea facing rooms.

the swimming pool is easily accessible and a lot of activities take place in the campus viz pizza making mini theater trekking around the 16th century fortress adventure activities like rappelling.

water sports are readily available on the beachfront during summer months oct-may.

absolute value for money will definitely recommend one experience for all goa buffs and newcomers.

i would especially recommend taking up the packages which can be extended on a prorata basis.this will entitle you to a host of inclusions including airport transfers etc visit http://www.tajhotels.com/rates.asp

Unique Quality: situated on the ramparts of 16th century fortress facing the sea stands the fort aguada beach resort.

all rooms in this resort are sea facing unlike some resorts where only the premium rooms have sea views.

it is one of the hotels comprising a big complex of hotels the other two being the taj hermitage a group of beautiful villas located on hilltop and the taj holiday village on the calangute beach.all three are adjacent to each other.

the three hotels belonging to the same group of hotels that is the taj group, the visitor is entitled to enjoy the facilities of all of them. this includes almost 8 restaurants and the services of a world class spa the aguada spa offering rejuvenation packages to meet needs of visitors all over the world.

in the spa you get a range of treament genres from shiatsu swedish ayurvedic and aromatherapy.

the beach has been recently flloodlit which gives a stunning effect at night of the waves lashing on the walls of the fort.

the highlight is the vasco da gama point or the sunset point on top of the hill which affords unrivalled views of the arabian sea also the walk up to the point is thro the beautiful villas of hermitage.

recently a track has been created on hilltop for all terrain vehicles(ATVs) which will be introduced shortly.

the swimming pool is moderate but centrally located.

there is a 24 hours complimentary vehicle service(if u dont want to walk urself and enjoy the lush green surroundings) between the 3 hotels for visitors to enjoy the life activity and dining at all 3 of them.

another unique feature is that this hotel gives you a meal credit if you book their package which is more than adequate. after the heavy complimentary buffet breakfast you may not require the lunch!!!

meal credit allows you to order a la carte food and sample the cuisine as opposed to the 3 buffet system at most hotels.
