Nice 3 Star With Excellent Restaurant

Angels Resort is a nice clean 3 star hotel located between Panaji and Candolim. The rooms have tea/coffee maker, TV, A/C, and a balcony. Standard rooms and suites are available. There is a nice pool on the property as well as an indoor game room and gym. There is a complimentary shuttle to the beach and to Panaji but I would recommend that you have your own transportation if you stay here.

The real stand-out of this resort is its restaurant which serves delicious Goan dishes as well as other cuisines. We lived nearby for two years and ordered from here many, many times. My favorite dishes were the chicken korma and egg curry. The restaurant is inexpensive and even if you don't stay at the resort, I'd recommend trying the restaurant.

Prices run about Rs 2500 a night but they offer deals for a stay of 7 days or more. Breakfast is included.

Great city resort

The budget resort is located in the middle of a residential town of Goa called Porvorim. This is on the Mumbai-Goa highway and is just about 5 km from the capital city Panjim/Panaji. It is about 45km from the main ralway station of the state- Madgaon and approximately 40 km from the airport. The closest beaches are about 10 km from the resort. We had booked through an internet auction site but was glad that the receptionist didn't take too much time checking us in. The rooms(standard AC) and the atached baths we stayed in were somewhat small and could have been more spacious for the money we paid. We didnt spend too much time at the resort but it had a nice clean look with a small swimming pool and a nice restaurant cum bar which was built like a beach shack- half open. The food wasn't too great though the breakfast was quite good. Since public transport is not that great in Goa, one needs to hire a taxi or rent a scooter/motorbike for moving around since the hotel is not walking distance to any places of interest. Service in the resort was also pretty prompt and the employees were very cordial and helpful in whatever ways they could. If someone is not too keen on a beach facing hotel I think it is a good resort to check out.

Unique Quality: It is a good place to stay if one wants to travel and view Goa in its different hues instead of staying right on the beach. Some key points in its favour include the fact that the resort is close to petrol pump(2km), capital city(5-6km), beaches(closest one is 10km), provides bikes for hire without any security deposit etc, and was just 1 km from my bank's ATM...
