Relaxation Paradise
by mogambo about Coconut Creek
Me and my wife were there in the first week of December, and it was sheer pleasure! This resort/hotel is an unknown treasure. It's not widely publicised locally, as it mostly caters to Westerners. It's run by a Goan and his Scottish wife, and is quite popular with people from the UK.
It's located at Bogmallo beach (South Goa), within 5 minutes walk from the ocean! It has only about 20 rooms (half with a/c), swimming pool, pool table, and a nice restaurant/bar. The family also owns Joets, a restaurant right at the beach, again within a stone's throw from the hotel.
If you want a nice, relaxing stay, without any noise, this is definitely the place for you. If however, you like people around you, with a bit of party atmosphere, and activities to do; this probably isn't your cup of tea. There were mostly English couples in their 60's relaxing on the pool's edge, or sunbaking at the beach. We only saw one other young couple (prob in their early 30's), and only one other (in their mid 40's) who had kids there. The rooms are quite spacious, with very comfortable beds, nice bathroom (with a tub), and is very "western"; as far as it's amenities are concerned. The reason I say this is because I am Indian, but have been living in Australia for the past 15 years. So I am trying to distinguish this hotel from others which may not necessarily be up to the standards of people from Western countries, who are looking for similar level of hotels as found in their countries. For example, my Australian wife was extremely happy when she discovered that this hotel in fact had spring beds (as compared to other Indian hotels)!
The swimming pool is a good size, and is very clean. There are however, no beach views or water views from any of the rooms in this resort; yet is only about 5 minutes walk from the beach.
It's a pity they don't have more activities for people to do at this hotel. They could've even organised bus tours to Anjuna markets on Wednesday nights, or similar trips.

Welcome to the heart of tourist activity in India, Goa. Goa is a small state on western coast of India with KONKANI as its state language. I, myself have my origins here in Goa in the Canacona (Kannkonn) taluka, 40km south of Margao towards the border with Karnataka. Goa is so different from rest of India, mainly due to Portuguese. Society is highly liberal and have a relaxing (Susegad in Konkani) lifestyle.
Goa is mainly divided into two districts (Dona Zille), North Goa (Uttara Goenkaara) and South Goa (Dokxin Goenkaara).
