Goa Beach House Hotel

An ideal resort in south goa

Goa Beach House is located on Fatrade beach, Varca, Salcete, South Goa.

It is a quaint beach resort with about 20 rooms in all. There are 6 club cottages with a double bedroom, porch and bathroom. All rooms are air conditioned.
The resort has a well maintained swimming pool which the kids enjoyed immensely. The restaurant serves a grand buffet most days. On other days you have a choice of a la carte which is just as good and light on the pocket. My husband and i had been looking forward to some goan cuisine which wasnt to be but we could find no flaw with all we ordered specially the north Indian fare.
The beach is just about 125-150 metres from the resort. You cross a little bamboo bridge leading to the white sands. The beach is beautiful, vast, clean. For those who like quiet and a lil privacy this is the place to be. We found we had our part of the beach mostly to ourselves. The sea is quite safe around here though we were cautioned against venturing too far as this is not a developed beach so no life guards.
The resort staff are welcoming and helpful. We would spend 3-4 hrs on the beach till it was time for a hearty lunch.
The resort also provides live music which i found to my dismay. Saturday is disco night. This was also our first night at the resort, the DJ was playing current hindi pop (and english) at full volume. Thankfully, as i soon found out, different days are for different forms of music. Romantic old, ghazals etc.
We stayed in Fatrade 3 out of 5 days. Day 2 we hired a car and drove to Cavelossim. This is a popular area and is somewhat European in appearance, shops and hotels line the street with the beach nearby. Good eating places too. Day 4 we drove to Old Goa, Panjim for a feel of the old city and some shopping too (cashew nuts etc). We went on to north Goa and stopped by at Baga and Anjuna.

Unique Quality: Our kids loved the swimming pool. Its clean and inviting specially after some time under the hot Goan sun.
The staff would go out of their way to help. The rooms were kept spotless, whatever condition you left them in.
And of course, the proximity to the beach. Ideal location, good resort, beautiful beach, good food.
