This luxury hotel situated on the Mobar beach set amongst 75 acres of tropical gardens most of the rooms have lagoon views and there is 6 restaurants to choose from, There is a large pool area and a 9 hole golf course, so there is plenty to do whether you want to have fun or just relax, It is a 5 star hotel with prices to match
I have stayed four times now at the Leela Palace, and will go back again. I have been lucky enough to travel widely, and have not stayed at any hotel better than this in the world (the Burj Al Arab in Dubai is grander, but several times the price). The location is excellent, with a pretty beach and rooms spread out across the extensive landscaped gardens and grounds. The Lagoon Suite (one up from the basic room) is very generous in size, with not one but two large marble bathrooms, as well as a lounge. The Jamavar Indian restaurant at the hotel is of a remarbkably high standard, better in my view than the famous Bhukara in Delhi. There is also a simple cafe and a surprisingly decent Italian restaurant if you want a change. Service is impeccable throughout all my visits. If you are looking for some winter sunshine and to relax in luxury, it would be hard to do much better than this. Best time of year to visit is November - January, when temperatures are not too high (around 30C most days).

Leela Goa - Its a seven star hotel and if you come here during the peak season (Oct - Mar) you would probably end up paying lots of money for stay and food; however in the non peak season the Leela group has special rack rates and so we opted for a 3N stay during the monsoons. We got a fabulous deal inclusive of buffet breakfast which worked out to about 4500 per person for 3N/4D.
Food was a bit expensive , however there was a decent restaurant walking distance from the leela called 'fisherman;s wharf' which had reasonable rates for food and booze and it worked to our advantage. So we stayed at the leela and ate at this restaurant.
We even managed to hire a two wheeler at Rs 350 per day (EXCLUSIVE OF PETROL) and used it to explore south goa.
Must recommend it to one and all. check out leela goa if you can.
cheers a.
It was fun and Leela was a fabulous place to stay IN - the pool, the private beach, the dvd movies, and the lovely room facing the lagoon - and at such an affordable price. This property was worth every cent we spent there and fortunately we didnt have to spend too much since we visited it during the off season.
