Nice Hotel, Good Location
The Lemon Tree hotels are advertised as business hotels although the 2 we have stayed at (including this one) are in tourist areas. We booked a standard room and got an upgrade with a balcony, which was nice.
The room was very nice with all the amenities: flat screen TV, DVD player (DVDs available at the front desk), refrigerator/mini-bar, 2 bottles of water daily, workstation desk, laptop safe, couch & chair, and comfortable king bed and nice linens. The bathroom was nice as well - with bathtub and LT's own brand of toiletries.
The hotel itself was decorated in medieval style which was so out of place in Goa!
Breakfast - which is usually included - is served in the Citrus Cafe. Food is mostly Indian although omelettes, waffles, etc. are available. There are too many restaurants to try out in Goa to eat lunch or dinner at the hotel!
The hotel is not on the beach as the name might suggest but you are within walking distance of the beach, and plenty of restaurants and shops as well.
Two things that were not so good: price of internet access was high (Rs 700 for 24 hours, Rs 275 for 2 hours). Unless you really need to be connected, go to one of the very inexpensive internet cafes within walking distance. The other thing - was the lack of cleanliness of the pool. The water was really murky. There were plenty of people swimming, including some Indians in full street clothes, which may have explained the condition of the water. There were signs posted about swimming, but the guests obviously ignored the signs and the staff did not seem to enforce the rules.
Although this was the only the very beginning of the season in Goa, I thought the price was very high for this hotel. On the lower end, there are many, many other choices. On the higher end - there are a couple of really, really nice places - but at $100 more per night (at least).
Check the website for additional hotel amenities which include a kid's playroom and salon/spa.
The rooms were so nice, clean, and comfortable that I could overlook any issues (and swim somewhere else!). And the location is my favorite in Goa, so I would consider staying here again.
