Nice Hotel with Zero Customer Service
We arrived as a part of our honeymoon to a room with two single beds. When we asked for a room with a double bed (as per our booking) we were given one in the middle of a block of rooms where a conference full of young single men were staying. It was loud and disruptive. We were finally given a room in a different part of the hotel. Our first night was disrupted by drunk men knocking on our door and we were not able to use the hotel pool or the bar because of the sheer number of drunk single men. When we wanted to check out the next day so that we could have a bit more privacy the manager asked us to stay and assured us that the group would be leaving by 2pm that day. We decided to stay, only to find out that the group didn't leave until 8pm. when we complained to the management that we were LIED to and would have happily left earlier in the day had we not been lied to we were given an insincere apology and told that the noise and knocking were to be expected. The women were told by the GM that they were mistaken and the men weren't leering that it was "in your head", adding insult to injury. While several of the staff were kind and offered their understanding and support, the managers were horrible to deal with. There are tiles missing from the pool which led to another guest injuring her foot. All in all, we wish we would have not been lied to, but left even more dissatisfied because the general manager was so insulting.
I would not recommend this hotel for couples in general and would ask that you avoid it in favor of many more customer service oriented establishments in Goa.

Relaxing In Goa
My husband and I just recently returned from a week's stay at the Kennilworth and I have to say this place is wonderful. We usually stay at the Bogmallo beach resort whenever we go but because they were booked up we chose the Kennilworth. I'm glad we did. The customer service there was incredible. From the bellmen to the servers in the restaraunt, everyone always had a warm smile and a kind word. The rooms were in good condition each with their own private balcony. The one complaint I had about our room was the fact that it was quite dark. We actually got moved from the room we were in the first night due to the noise coming from conference below. The music they had on was literally shaking our walls. Once we called down to reception, they immediately moved us with no problems. Both rooms had the same lighting issue. Because it was the low season, most of the beach shacks were closed so we ended up eating on the all inclusive plan. The food was good quality and always hot. The meal times are flexible enough to meet practically any scheduling. The other thing that impressed me about this resort is the cleanliness. They are CONSTANTLY cleaning around there. During lunch one day I watched one of the servers continually clean one of the stainless steel food warmers until he could see his reflection clearly. I can't say enough about how much their standard of cleanliness means to me. For those traveling with children, the Kennilworth has a great playground and a kiddie area in their 14,000 SQ FT pool. The beach is also within a 100 meters and is private so you don't get alot of crowds. Then again this was off season so it could be vastly different during High season. One caveat is that this place is a bit farther out and because of this, the taxi stand that is outside of the hotel costs more than the ones that typically run from Bogmallo and other areas. Also avoid their "casino" which consists of about five machines tucked in the corner of their dance club.
Unique Quality: Unique Qualities: The 14,000 sq ft pool was unbelievable!. They have a swim up bar and a jacuzzi along with a water slide. There's also a great children's play area for those traveling with children. There's also a spa on site.

Relaxing in Goa

In one word: PERFECT
Browsing on the net which hotel to choose from.
Looking for something really good, but not ridiculously expensive.
The Kenilworth came up. Good web site, seductive pictures ... and the price ... wonderful.
I had my doubts keeping in mind the huge difference with hotels of the same category. But still I took the risk and did the booking.
I couldn't believe when I arrived at the hotel. Such an amazing place for that amount of money.
The rooms are perfect, wonderful food, the biggest and most beautiful swimming pool in Goa. Everybdoy smiles and is there to serve.
If you ever go to Goa don't hesitate to contact this hotel
Unique Quality: The swimming pool is absolutely stunning.
Also try the outside restaurant right in front of the beach. Couldn't be better.

goa's great resort
hey frnds.thanx for all ur genuine advices.im back from goa after spending a
real nice vacation of 5 days.we stayed at hotel kelinworth- a five star deluxe beach resort in utordafor 3 days
and at whispering palms(candolim) for 2 days.kelinworth was really a very gud
return for money, as there was relatively few guests and large swimming pools,
private beach and jacuzzi were more or less ours.there were no rains , flights
were on time, light sunny days, boozing in pool and beach side bbq n drinks were awesome.i
wd highly suggest kelinworth to ppl who can afford a room for 3000/- per day in
off season and want to lie pool or beach side the whole day.their pools are
biggest in goa.instructor charles is nice( jus give him 50 or 100 bucks) and he
will be extra nice and help u a lot in playing pool volleyball and other beach
games.their loud pool music and great drinks and prawns are irresistible.try

Chillin' paradise
We had a brilliant stay here in October. Ok so everything was'nt ready -lucky you lot from November onwards! - but the staff were amazing, they could'nt do enough for you. The food was brilliant, location is superb- right on the beach. The pools are excellent, including the pool bar and service. The newly built gym looked really good (we left before it was ready). Make sure you go and see Wilson (local taxi driver, found on the beach usually) he will look after you very well. Book all trips direct (forget expensive travel agents) Excellent room with HUGE bed, good bathroom and balcony. Do go out to eat some of the time as there are some lovely places. Book B&B like we did then you can choose.
Unique Quality: Views from the rooms (near the top) were great-over the lovely grounds and beach. Gym looks good, Pools and outside jacuzzi are great for just chilling. Enjoy! I will be back.

Fantastic hotel with a huge pool in South Goa
Fairly cheap 5 star hotel accomodation. Nice rooms with friendly staff. It is situated in the South of Goa on a fantastic beach. It has the largest pool in Goa too!

First Timer
Hi, first time to Goa for me and wife. Staying at Kenilworth Beach Resort in Utorda in the south. Has anyone stayed there? Heard about bargains re gold & diamonds and want to have a ring made. Can anyone recommend a good jeweller in this area. Been told by doc & chemist don't need malaria tablets but so many different opinions but decided to go with docs. Can anyone tell me best market and what day its on and also any good restaurants in this area.

When are you going? Normally its not a problem for malaria in Goa. However, lately there has been a flurry of reports of travelers catching it there..

Try Fishermans Wharf which is just after Holiday Inn, which is in South Goa. Nice setting by the ferry wharf.. There is someone singing or playing the trumpet or somekind of music daily. Very good ambience. Nice place to eat.. Fantastic cocktails. reasonable prices.
I found the food and specially the fish dishes fresh and yummilicious

Advice on malaria prophylaxis for Goa has now changed - Tablets are now recommended provided there are no contra-indications.

Stayed just near the Kenilworth last week.Looks very nice indeed.some good eating places around just a quick(cheap) taxi ride.Martins Corner,Sinatras,Fusion,Pentagon.and many great shacks.Jewellery places difficult to reccomend,but everyone knows one !
The evening market at Arpora on Sat.night is brilliant,great food,music and not too many hassles from stallholders!Malaria tablets from any of the good chemists are dirt cheap,and the Delhi Belly tablets...and they work.
