Built on two floors with all rooms overlooking a delightful pool. The first floor rooms have a balcony and the ground floor rooms a small terrace.
I was only on a B and B basis so cannot comment on the meals other than the beakfast which was very average indeed. The usual eggs to order. Beans, tomatoes etc and of, course, an Indian option. Sometimes bacon was on which was best described as inedible. The cups they provided for tea were unbelievably small which meant people had to return to the water urn about five times to have a decent cup of tea. Tip-- take a mug with you!
The staff were very friendly and helpful and were defi itely not pushy for tips etc.
The rooms were reasonably spacious with a nice bathroom. Safes are provided in the room with self code locking.
All in all a very relaxing hotel.
One little bit of advice though which lets the hotel down.
.
When staying at the Oceanique you will definitely be met by Ally during the first few days. He is a Taxi driver and tries to control everything out of the Oceanique. However, be very careful with him. He will rip you off with his prices which will seem cheap compared to UK prices.
The owner of the hotel is greatly disliked by the locals as he will not allow local taxi drivers to stay outside the Oceanique. He gets commission from the taxis he allows to use the hotel.
You can, however, ask the hotel receptionist to phone a taxi for you if you have the number. if not, they will get Ally to rip you off. It is not their fault -- just what they are ordered to do.
A very reliable taxi driver we found that actually drove as safe as he could was a Joseph Fernandes , his mobile number is 9850211621. Another is Edwin 9881286114.
For local tuk-tuk journeys you could ring Franco 9822480180 or Uday 9890055510
We used these and found them very good indeed and at the right price.
Only a short walk to the beach which happens to be a 'working beach'. You will pass a few sqatter type fishermen shacks along the way. There is a fairly strong smell of dried fish in that area that sometimes can be smelt at the hotel.
Definitely visit the beach about 6.30am-ish to witness all the activity of the fishermen.
There are some good beach shacks nearby in which to eat. A recommended restaurant that is nearby is the Lucky Star and also the Silver Spoon.
The pool is not large but is quite nice. Sun beds and parasols are available around the pool.

See tip on Taxis from this hotel.
