Karwar- Peach of a beach!
Though the most popular of beaches here is the Devbagh, unfortunately I visited the same before the era of digital photography. However recently I visited Gokarna (also in the Karwar stretch and spent New years at this awesome beach. This beach is shaped like the sanskrit 'Om', and hence the name. It is an ideal place to spend a full moon night and a nice sunny day lazing in the waters of Arabian Sea! Bright and beautiful this is one my all time favorite beaches in India.
"Yana- Volcanic caves"
If you thought Karwar was all about beaches think again. Yana is a famous tourist/piligrimage center that has caves formed by volcanic eruptions centuries ago! However it is better to tour this place in groups and with local guides.
"Back waters of Marawanthe"
Do stop for a nice boating experience at the back waters of Marawanthe on the way to Karwar.
