Went in March 07 and having looked at reviews were a little worried. Just the opposite experience. The new manager was very helpful. We stayed in the luxury villas which were just lovely. The outside bathroom/toilet good fun especially the great baths, although the nets could have been better. The rooms huge, clean and bed comfortable. The lesiure centre and pool are a bit dated but the pool staff and lesiure centre manager more than compensated by their helpfulness and friendly attitudes. We are told these are due for refurbishment They even took us out to the surrounding villages by bike and for walks. We were worried about the food from prevoius reviews but everything we had was absolutely lovely. In particular the chef gave us some great cookery lessons ( Not to be missed if you stay here) Had a personal Barbecue fabulous! We were travelling with a small child and couldn't speak more highly of the staff in helping out with anything she needed. I can understand why some people could feel this is not typical of a five star as it is truly Indian but anyone who really wants to enjoy India and not be somewhere that could be anywhere in the world will just love staying here.
