Green Cove, Madikeri: Great Homestay - Green Cove - in Madikeri
Nice clean homestay within 1 km from Madikeri bus station. Very quiet and well maintained.
Liked it very much. Very helpful caretaker. Lots of facilities like TV, ensuite bedrooms, balconies overlooking the greenery, telephones, hot water, internet connections, lots of plants, etc.
Suitable for a weekend getaway from Bangalore, Mangalore, Mysore. Liked to bask in the sunlight reading a book.
Also visited Raja Seat in Madikeri, Abbey Falls, Tibetean monastery in Bylukuppe, Dubare Elephant camp, Nisargadhama nature park, Irupu Falls, etc in a single day trip.
Unique Quality: (a) Great quiet clean homestay.
(b) Very friendly caretaker.
(c) Lots of privacy.

Chitra hotel: Cleanest Hotel in madekeri
Excellent rooms which were spotless.we had booked for the Rs640/-per day ordinary room but on arrival were told the entire floor had a plumbing problem and would we be willing to settle for the deluxe room at Rs800/-per day.The original cost of a deluxe room was Rs1000/-..We agreed and were delighted with the room.they changed the sheets and provided fresh towels each day and running hot and cold water and TV.Inspite of frequent power cuts, we had uninterrupted power. All said I will highly recommend this place.

Himagiridarshini: Peace and solitude
Homestay in a coffee estate is an awesome experience esp if you have the right people for company! Dheeraj and Keertana treated us to some sumptuous home food and warm campfires in the evening. We really didn't want to leave the place at the end of 3 days!
Unique Quality: We had three hills and a waterfalls to ourselves, great parking space, a badminton court, carrom and other games!

Trekker’s Paradise & King’s Cottage: Coorg home-stays with Sumi and Venu and family
These are actually two home-stay locations: Trekker’s Paradise in Madikeri (where I spent about 3 weeks total), and King’s Cottage, about 45 km away in Kakkabe (where I spent a night after trekking). The names are more descriptive the other way around.
Trekker’s Paradise is in Madikeri itself, located just under Raja’s Seat, over the hill from the center of town. It’s the family's house, with two independent units on the second floor (attached baths and kitchens, and private entrances), and two rooms on the first floor (one with attached bath, one sharing the family bath). Most of the guests come for the weekend, staying overnight on Saturday.
King’s Cottage in Kakkabe is up amidst coffee plantations, and is a beautiful, quiet, and peaceful place. There are several buildings with three or four rooms each and wide porches where meals are served. The family is constructing another set of rooms that will have a large common dining area on top, overlooking the valley and hills beyond.
In both places you can arrange all meals at a reasonable extra cost, and in both places the cooking is very, very good. Rooms/suites are clean, bright, and cheerful. King’s Cottage is more hotel than home-stay than Trekker’s Paradise. It’s also harder to get to, with less to do once you get there; but that’s not always a bad thing.
