Stay at Ginger and "bike-it-up" to the beach

When one thinks of a holiday in Goa, one insantly pictures a hotel on (or very close to) the beach. Unfortunately, most such hotels have a high price tag :(.
Ginger Goa, is certainly not close to the beach, however, it does offer bikes of rent on a very affordable rate. We rented a bike from the hotel and roamed a number of beaches (Anjuna, Baga, Candolim...) and had an absolutely amazing time.
Ginger is a name you can trust. It has great rooms, excellent beds, fresh linen, great shower, spotless cleanliness... and much more at an affordable rate.
All in all, as long as you are ready to "bike-it-up" to the beach, ginger is an amazing place to stay while in Goa !
Nice Basic Hotel

Like all Ginger Hotels in India, this one too has all the basics. A nice clean room with bath, tea coffee maker with enough supplies refilled daily, a small LCD TV writing desk with comfortable chair, and a small cabinet for keeping your clothes. The room is decent sized with enough space to walk around.
There is a small cafeteria near the reception desk and you can even order snacks like burgers, samosas to your room. Room service for snacks is open 24 hours but the list of items you can order is very small. A limited supply of bottled drinking water is complimentary and there is a water dispenser with hot and cold water on every floor. You will also find a common ironing board and iron kept next to the water dispenser for you to use at will for free.
Ginger Panaji is suitable for a single or business traveler or even a young couple who need a decent place to crash after a day of activities in Panaji. However, if you are traveling with children, things may not be as easy.
The hotel is located slightly away from the main market area of Panaji but cabs are available easily outside the hotel.
There is a travel desk in then lobby area but they seemed to be charging too much. The travel desk asked for Rs. 600/- for a drop to the airport in a non-AC cab but when I went out to ask a cabby, he just wanted Rs. 450/-. Unless you like to burn your money, the travel desk in this hotel is entirely avoidable.
But overall, a nice hotel.
Nice experience

I travel to Goa often for business, last time was in April 2009. Everytime i am put up in Vasco, where my major customers are located. This time my trip was all over goa for 4 days and thot to stay at Ginger Panaji.
The staff there are courteous, clean rooms, well maintained interiors of the hotel and the small restuarant serving good food. The Cafe Coffee Day attached the the hotel did not carry too much of variety as it is else where, probably not too many foodies would be staying/ coming there.
Breakfast was good, the waiters, though on franchisee were nicely organised and well mannered and seemed students/ passouts of Hotel Management course.
Overall my 4 days were good without any complains for the hotel.
But only one small complain that the house keeping is not timely, thought they have all the things provided in the room, but in case you need anything extra...it would atleast take 15-20mins to reach your room. Mainly coz of less staff.
But over all...nice place...atleast for business and affordable stay.

Hi,
I had been to Goa on a budget holiday last September. Somehow i thought of booking into Ginger Hotel as I had heard quite a bit about it. Also its a part of the Tata Group which makes it even more trustworthy.
The hotel is located right in the centre of Goa, in the capital city of Panaji. Its nice, neat and clean and a very good staff.
The room had all the basic necessities of a budget hotel and I was very impressed with it. They had a "Cafe Coffee Day" outlet at the groundfloor which was good.
The breakfast at the restaurant was also nice and served fresh and nice food.
Overall, I will strongly recommend this hotel for all budget travelers. I am sure you will like this experience.

Perfect Budget Holiday

A perect destination for a "Budget Holiday" with no frills attached.
For the price we paid I have to say the room was good and the basic services offered by the Hotel great. Definately cannot compare it to a luxury or leisure reosrt. Though am not sure if I will use it again for a leisure destination definately for a business purpose though.

As with other Ginger hotels, the ambience, the rooms, the overall atmosphere is excellent.
The staff is warm and co-oprative.
The hotel is centrally located in Panjim, hence is conveinient to commute to place of work as well as pleasure.
The only let off is food service with no great varieties to choose from for either breakfast, lunch or dinner. When in goa one can expect goan varities a pleanty....but not here...
However this disadvantage gets negated due to its prime location.
Overall the experience is quite good.

Hotel is good for business and holiday stay. There are few problems with hotel staff. As when I reached at hotel I have to wait for a long for the room. As I had booked the room online a day before I reached Goa, although room was not ready for me. I was allotted a room where a.c was not working, and It was on hotel record that A.C for room no 410 Is not working. When I complain for the same to the hotel staff no body responded to It for more than an hour. Then I have go to by myself to get a hotel person to get the problem checked. Then he checked that the same has been on the hotel records. Then after an hour I was allotted another room. That room was good. I would say that I had a pleasant stay. It Is easy on your pocket If you book online on hotel website as you get discounted rates. you save on few other things also e.g. gym Is free, you get packed drinking water complimentary, tea maker Is In every room, you get your clothes Ironed by yourself for free. It is overall good hotel.

What we assume for the GInger Hotel is SInce its a part of TATA group so def we will get the satisfacton and value for our money,
THe hotel is truely gives the service as we expected,.
