B&B in Jwalabanj: B&B in Jwalabanj

When we were looking at options for a place to visit this time in the hills, we were considering Kausani. Jwalabanj was a name that a friend of mine. I must admit, that until then, i had no clue where this place was or how to reach here. It was not even on the map, and a bit further into the interiors of the region, compared to the mainstream hill station options that people looking to get-away for a short break usually choose, which would have made it a bit harder for me to convince the other 8 friends who were coming along. However, the promise of a unique, non-urban experience, coupled with a great view of the himalayas, was enough for them, and soon we were down to working out the logistics...

This is a rustic village style place is owned and run by a local guy- Mr Negi. Its spotless clean and pretty nicely designed. We had four rooms, three of which were interconnected.
There is a room downstairs, where meals are served. You can tell Mr Negi what you want to eat and they will make it for you. Its usually simple Indian food, and its delicious.
The toilets-baths are not attached, and there is no running water. They bring water up from a stream and have big containers to store it in. There is no electricity either, so there are lanterns which are lit up at night. They will light a fire if you want, on cold evenings.
Carry a sufficient number of batteries etc if you are staying for long, for your cameras etc, and perhaps a battery operated mobile charger, or maybe a car mobile charger, if you have driven up. Your cellphone does have signal there. However, you have the option of going down to Panuanaula, which is not far, and charging your batteries etc.
