Raj Guru Guesthouse: GREAT GREAT Family-run GH

Just about 3 minutes walk from Pushkar's main shopping district, the Sadar Bazaar Road. Though you cannot see the lake from the rooftop here, Rajguru GH is a very tranquil place hiding away from the croud with a nice small garden court. The guesthouse only has 7 rooms, and the prices range from 250-350 Rupees. All rooms are basic but really really clean, safe and comfy. My greatest impression about this place is its owners, Mr Niti and his father, they're very kind and helpful. I really recommend the GH for single travelers, senior couples but definitely NOT for groups with more than 3-4 pax.

Exotic Resort & Adventure: The place to camp in Pushkar

This is much more than a camp site. The tents are already there for you and they are better than some hotels I've stayed in....in fact quite a few.

I don't know the price because it was part of a tour, but whatever it was, it was worth it.

The tents had beds, and good beds actually. Electric lights. Carpet! Running water and a sink! A proper flushing toilet! A shower! I've never been in a tent like it before, absolute luxury.

The camp site is enclosed and guarded.

Included in your price are meals there and they are pretty good. Vegetarian only.

You can get a camel cart into the main town from within the camp complex.

Contrary to popular belief, you can buy alcoholic drinks at the campsite. The rest of the town is dry.

Leave your bucket outside when you go to bed and in the morning it will be full of hot water for you to wash in. Great service.

Atithi Guesthouse: good budget option

Second time in Pushkar and this time decided to stay on the outskirts of the town away from the market and lake area which can be a bit hectic and noisy . Atithi is well situated only about 4 mins walk from the main market yet on the fringe of the town. Its a small guesthouse consisting of 2 floors set around a tiny but well kept garden, there are even 4 tortoises in the garden that complete the serene feel to the place.
The ground floor rooms are your basic budget ones and the first floor slightly better rooms that are tiled. We opted for the first floor.
Room was clean and bed comfortable . bathroom adequate and Pappu the owner very friendly and helpful without being in your face the whole time.
We went in July so was off season and very quiet and just what we wanted.

Lake View Hotel: Great lakeside location

The rooms are very basic here but it's the view over the lake (hence the hotels name) that is worth the money. I was shown two rooms upon arrival - one with a WC and sink and one was just the room but was a good size. I took the one with the WC and sink which was Rs200. There are a couple of communal showers nearby. I think they are better budget places around but if you want a place with a view then you can't get much better than here. There's a restaurant on the top floor/balcony which does reasonable food and is good to sit at at sunset.

Pushkar Fort: Good Hotel

In the desert, just a short distance outside the town, this hotel offers nicely furnished huts or tents. Both are almost identical except, well, some are huts and some are tents. Bathrooms included in both are to a high standard.
Entertainment for us in the evening included a performance by the best fire eater I've ever watched.
Food in the restaurant was an adequate buffet and breakfast was included in the price.

I found staff very friendly and helpful , room was spacious , bed comfortable and bathroom adequate. Revisited them now , nice to see rooms getting painted in preparation for season.

Very reasonable rooftop restaurant with a good all round view of the lake as well Pushkar .

Lake View GH: By the lake

We had a room with balcony and a fantastic lake view. The room, however, was very basic and the shared bathrooms not too inviting...

... but the view alone could justify the 200 Rs.

Hotel Shanti Palace: Authentic atmosphere

I’d rather not comment….the scene speaks for itself…for the propensity of Indians to use hypertrophied names and association of words for the most humble place, shop or business….. Holy cow, what a palace!

Exotic Resorts and Adventures EraCamp: put off in Pushkara

We booked the Royal India Tour of Rajasthan/Golden Triangle by Indus Travel of Canada, Hi Tours inIndia, to coincide with the Pushkar camel fair and religious pilgrimage. I checked TripAdvisor reviews of all the hotels listed for the "superior first class" level and found them overall quite satisfactory. Subsequently there were quite a few changes(to lesser accommodations). In particular the hotel in Pushkar was to be a tent. When I asked I was not given the name of the tent but was sent 4 photos and the description "...please find attached photographs for the Pushkar tents. You will have similar tents as shown in the pictures. Here are some of the features: “Swiss Tents - large, two proper camp beds with sheets, blankets, pillows etc. Attached to each tent is your private washroom tent, complete with flush toilet, shower (cold water), basin, and long table for your essentials. Each tent has jute floor coverings, lighting, chairs both inside and out. Each tented area has service personnel, to clean up your tent, replenish towels, soaps, TP etc. Well, KMart and Saks Fifth Avenue are "similar" in that both sell women's clothing. But the tents at Exotic Resorts and Adventures EraCamp were quite unlike what she described or what I read of in TripAdvisor reviews of other tent camps in Pushkar. The mat did not completely cover the floor; a large gap in front of the washstand let water soak the ground to make it muddy. There were no chairs inside; the plastic ones outside badly needed washing. The washstand had a mirror so small and poorly angled it was not possible to shave; the spigot did not clear the edge of the sink, so a dirty cup had to be used to collect the water to rinse with. The toilet was filthy, its bottom caked in mud(rickety shower adjacent) and its top smeared with a darker brown matter - your guess! At least the bland food was inexpensive. See my photos.

Guest house VK: A very nice guesthouse

Very nice guesthouse, near the lake and the most importants streetsin Pushkar. It has a very good and very very cheap restaurant on the rooftop with an interesting view. Nice people in the reception.
The room was simple bur clean and nice. It has plenty of light entering by the window.
I little bit noisy...but not too much.

Hotel Kanhaia Haveli: Nice family-run hotel

We stayed here in 2001 and 2008.

In 2001 it was named only:Hotel Kanhaia. The family took really good care of us. It was a nice place to relax, and made our stay in Pushkar even better!

In 2008 the hotel was under renovation to become Hotel Kanhaia Haveli, from budget to midrange.
The old mother recognised us after almost 8 years! "second time Pushkar!" she said, when we came looking for a room.

Nice Family, rooftop restaurant.
