I stayed at a nice hotel with a swimming pool, private bath, and cable television while in Pushkar May 2004 for $7 per night. I paid less for a fan cooled room and the marble floors often seemed to radiate heat during the day. The rooms are all equipped for air-con though. It was a new hotel in 2004 and the rooms were also large and nice furniture.
Unique Quality: The Pushkar Villas was owned by the same man who owned the Peacock Hotel and when the swimming pool was drain to remove sand I was allowed to use the pool at the Peacock, which had a nice shaded courtyard pool a few blocks away from the Pushkar Villas.
Directions: It was just off the main road from Ajmer coming into town.
