Hotel Natraj: Nicely located
The biggest USP of this hotel was it's location on Dehradun Road. It appears when you just enter into Rishikesh and still everything from Ram Jhula to Lakshman Jhula and the river rafting sites are almost as far away as would be from any other hotel.
It has a big structure and equally big lobby. Feels like an old style building which has survived due to continuous efforts to restore it rather than revamp it. Rooms are equally spacious and bedding is comfortable enough for a nice sleep.
Food was pretty good although the service time was bit on the lagging side. I felt the reason was a small staff since I didn't see too many guys in their staff. AC/Geyser facilities are present and the room also has a sofa unit (I told you its way too spacious for it's pricing). But with all of it you don't find some kind of super finish right from interiors to the passageway to the lifts and the bedding's and toiletries being provided which would have made this hotel from being good to Great.
Spacious rooms and a decent rear side view of a seasonal river (although it was totally dry when we were there)

Shiva Cottage: Perfect place in the heart of it all!
In the heart of the place you want to be -- on the other side of the river away from it all -- near Laxman Jhula. Yet it's slightly off the main road so it's also quiet. Clean and reasonably big rooms. Rs150 for 1, Rs200 for 2, in October. Also has hot water! Friendly manager.

Beach Camps: Camp Rapid Action
Camp rapid action is on of the best camps in shivpuri. The tent are neat and clean and services phenomenal. The staff is helpful and courteous. It has got some excellent view of the river ganga.
The bon fire at night is an out of the world experience and the evenings are so calm and peaceful that you just want to sit on the rocks beside the river and get the best of the atmosphere.
The camp is easily acessible from the road thus making it a favourite for many adventure lovers.
The one thing that makes this camp stand apart from many others in the region is the presence of a stream right next to the camp.
In the after noon, you can have a dip in the stream, or just sit on the rocks with your feet in the stream and enjoy the sun.
In the evening the stream makes for an excellent place for quiet conversations..

New Bhandari Swiss Cottage: Rishikesh's roof
they provide one of the Best accomodation in Rishikesh, recomended by Lonely planet & Discovery channel for Budget travellers. world class rooms with best service by Nepalis. it would be full in season to avoid trouble, book it earlier. Most visitors get confused with the old guesthouse which has the same name. This is a better option and depending on the season you can negotiate to get the best deal. Further up the hill from Bhandari Swiss Cottage( old one ).
if we count Both Bhandaris, it has a campus type compound with restaurents, music shop, gift gallery & garment shop etc.
stuff is cheap & neccessory for yoga & trekking.
Best thing is to get ariel view of the Ganges.
a yoga hall with trainer, you can avail it on nominal charges.

Make sure you ask for a room on the top floor. typically they provide best rooms if you are on a package. I prefered the rooms with the view of the valley than the view of the palace

Hotel Divya: A fine location
Rishikesh has an abundance of hotels and ashrams to suit every budget. We opted for the Hotel Divya in Lakshman Jhula, very good value, on the hill with balconies over looking the Ganga. Unfortunately, another hotel has been built in front of it, obscuring the view for the lower floors and totally blocking the Ganga view for the private house next door. The town seems to have no building regulations at all; anywhere else this sort of selfish development would be blocked. This doesn't detract from the laidback ambience and airiness of the hotel. The two rooms situated on the roof make for a perfect long stay residence. The Divya is pestered by monkeys, which we found charming, despite having our laundry stolen and deposited on an opposite rooftop. Their restaurant is good enough for an early start but there's such an excellent choice within five minutes walk, so you'd not want to eat there on a regular basis. The staff is well aware of this and can appear startled if someone does ask for a meal. The manager is very helpful in finding you a good price taxi, which can take you anywhere, even as far as Badrinath; for which you'd need to allow five days.
The Divya has Western and Indian style toilets and hot water is available in your en suite, if you give half an hour's notice. No towels and linen are provided though but this is reflected in the low room rate.
