Serene Informality

As part of a group tour, we stayed at this Taj properly for two nights. The grounds are well kept up and the staff was very pleasant (if lacking a bit of English skills. Not a big deal... but worth notiing...) I found the rooms well appointed. Lights / electricity went off a bit (Feb. 2011 visit). Interesting locks on the doors! REAL LOCKS! Has wifi and I believe it was free, too! Good food. Dinner was served nightly outside. This was nice. Live entertainment too!

Unique Quality: This Lodge has historic significance in that it was built in the 30's by Indian Royalty. The Rajasthan kings and princes used this lodge as their accomodations when they would hunt animals in the jungle. VERY cool! Lots of neat photos on the walls and 'trophies' hung on the walls. I didn't dig the trophies, but it is what it is! Great location and close to the Ranthambore National Park - which is why you are here in the first place!
