Weather in early-mid August?

by Russell_and_Julie

Greetings -

I'll be in Hyderabad on business in early August and am curious if someone can tell me the average temperature - I suspect, HOT! :)

Also, this is the rainy season, correct? After I'm done I'll plan on heading to Rishikesh for a little while - Can I pack the same clothes for both destinations, or is Rishikesh so much cooler that I'll need some heaver clothes, too?

Hello,
Glad to know you are travelling :( I am the unlucky one who doesnt get leaves from office..
August will be pleasant in hyderabad. Term pleasant is as per the indian weather. Its anywhere between 25-32. Evenings are good, cool breeze and you wont have much problem here.
Rishikesh is almost similar not much difference, only difference is rishikesh is more chilled during night coz of hills around. My opinion is you can carry same stuff. For night you can get a sweater.
Happy travel!

Travel Tips for Hyderabad

Hyderabad...In short!!!

by vdadu

Nice to hear that u are coming to Hyderabad...

Best Biryani: Paradise
(Paradise, in itself, is extremely famous place & is near to Secunderabad Railway Station.)

Famed local shopping Malls: Chermas, R S Brothers, Chandana Brothers.

Things not to be missed: Jewellery made of Pearls

Major Sights: Charminar, Salarjung Musuem, Mecca Mosque, Hussain Sagar area which includes famous Birla Temple, Golconda Fort, Ramoji Film City

For covering all these sights, u require atleast three days i.e a day for Ramoji Film City, a day for Charminar/Salarjung Museum/Mecca Mosque and to some extent Hussain Sagar area whereas Golconda fort requires seperately one day (Light n Sound show is worth watching but is during evening time). For Ramoji Film City details, VISIT MY HOME PAGE.

By hiring Taxi, u may buy more time but Autorikshaws are readily available in city. For Film City, hire a taxi.

Temperature: In afternoon hours, it will be hot whereas evening and subsequently nights will be cool.

I hope this will be helpful.

Keep Smiling
Vivek Dadu

Dont miss it

by vin1 about World famous Hyderabadi Biryani

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Thats all i can say. You will get the best of biryanis in hyderbad. There are quite a few varients of biryani. The biryani is very spicy and has great aroma. Hyderabadis eat biryani round the clock, you can get it from 11 am to 3 am at different places in hyderabad.

These are best places for biryani ( Not in the order of preference, each has its own taste):

1) Paradise Hotel , secuderabad
2) Bawarchi , RTC X Roads Hyd
3) Cafe Bahar , Hyderguda HYD
4) Parvez Hotel , Nampally, HYD
5) Hyderabad House ( they have many branches across city)
6) GreenLand Hotel ( Go for their midnight Biryani Buffet - starts at 11 PM)
7) Hotel Niagara - On way to charminar. Biryani - Mutton , Chicken. Order for a Double Ka Meetha to finish of the meal.

Dont try prawn or some other, stick to mutton and chicken.
One serving will be enough for 2 people.

"Charminar"

Charminar is sometime called "The Arc de triomphe of the East". We had out driver drop us off, toured the monument, and then walked down the main street for a bit. You will certainly get a slice of Hyderabad like in doing this!!

"Charminar by Night"

Another shot at night

"The Golconda Fort # 1"

The Golconda Fort is a must see if you are in Hyderabad. One of the coolest features of the fort is its acoustics if you clap your hand at certain places below the main entrance dome, the clap be heard clearly at the Bala Hissar, the tallest point a mile away! Lots and Lots of History here!!!
