Keep atleast a few weeks away...

Keep atleast a few weeks away, to explore the city inside out.
Food is the first thing that comes up in my mind. And among my favorites is definately Biryani, both chicken and mutton. Make it a point to have it whenever you happen to make a visit...
Also try out Haleem, which is quite a mouthful too.
Lastly, don't forget to buy books on Hyderabadi cuisine... ....having ice cream at Famous Ice Creams in Moazzam Jahi Market and eating hot kababs and parathas at Tank Bund, or Himayat Sagar as it is popularly known.
The Food Court
by alycat about All of them here
Actually the compound where Max Kitchen is housed had just one single restaurent earlier called Mandar, he labored on for quite a while till he picked up good clientele. Now he has competition frm a whole lot of joints like Ice & Spice, Four Seasons, Arabian Nights.
Check out what ur taste buds scream for, u wont be disappointed.
This Food Court is enroute to the Golconda Fort and Qutub Shahi tombs, so u migth as well pick a bite or u can bump in for dinner when the ambience is much more cooler n relaxing. I did grab a bite in Arabian nigths where i liked the Broast chicken with a spicy cream to dip in the chicken, go for it. Mandar has all continental and North Indian delicacies, some spicy n some oily, let the waiter know bout ur specifications.
GANDIPET LAKE-natural
by siwaydi
Gandhipet Lake is also known as Osman Sagar Lake. Mir Osman Ali Khan, the VIIth Nizam of Hyderabad city built a dam across river Musi when the violent floods destroyed the city in 1908. Mokshagundam Vishweswarayya did the planning for the construction of the Lake. It covers a catchment area of 46 square kilometers. The best time to visit the lake is right after the monsoons, from October to March.
The twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad receive their water supply from this lake. The surroundings here are very pleasant and landscaped gardens with a swimming pool are among the recently added attractions. The Lake is always buzzing with activity be it summers or winters. The flow of tourists remains almost constant throughout the year. This should give an idea as to how popular the lake is among tourists.
For those who want to stay overnight at the Lake, the Andhra Pradesh Tourism provides a guesthouse called "Sagar Mahal" which used to be the summer resort of the erstwhile Nizam. It has about ten double rooms with proper arrangement of food.
Fascinating City

"Largest Ghandi Statue"
Hyderabad is a beautiful, clean uncrowded city. In fact it is 2,3 or 4 cities. Hyderabad, Secunderabad and the ancient moghul city and the new Cyberabad as it is nicknamed.
The government has worked on greening the city and it really shows.
It is predominantly Muslim and there are many palaces built by the former Nizam of Hyderabad, once the world's richest man.
The Parliament is the former local Government administration and nearby there is the Nizam's Durbar.
Outside the Parliament is what is claimed to be the largest statue of Mahatma Ghandi
