Its actually 2 cities including Secunderabad where I base. Its a big city and transportation can be a problem. I love it for the many possibilities and because of familiarity. Its less of a big city feel than Delhi. Get a copy of Channel 6 at a bookstore to find out what is happening..

Gettin basic

by alycat about Hyderabadi restros

Okay here is the thing, its basic food, in a basic hotel, basic facilities, places which are not listed in any tourist guide, nobody reviews them nor do they top the best hotel or best food category listing held every year, which no one can vouch for the authenticity anyway.

These are small and amazing restros round town, could be a huge place as well, which serve some terrific non-veg food. You either have to have a taste of them since childhood or you must be a distant cousin of Ian Wright to try them out. They serve the most authentic Hydro food you would have ever eaten! Arbab Hotel, Toli Chowki Crossroads - Nahari (bone soup) paya, and zabaan (goat tongue) eaten with sheermal (bread).
Bismillah/Alhumdulilah Hotels in Nampally - Beef and chicken biryani, and beef kebabs as well.
Arabian Shewarma - Near Badi masjid (mosque) Mallepally
Biryani, Nahari and pretty much most of the stuff at Sohail Hotel, Malakpet.

WARANGAL - Rediscovering the past of a Historic Ci

by Swadeshika

Warangal, the age old Capital of Kakatiya Kingdom is located about 157kms from Hyderabad in the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh. It is the 5th biggest City in the State. Though the war-like Kakatiya dynesty of Andhra ruled for only 150 years, their 700 years old creations still evoke wonders. The real beauty of temples located in this arena lies in the jewel- like precision of its light-diffusing screens and carvings. True to its name this city was destined to stand like a solid rock, "Eka Shila Nagaram' as it is called, and then transformed as Warangal. The City was a mute witness to rise and fall of many a Kingdoms with a rich historic past. This land was home to several illustrious rulers and all the dynasties which ruled this area left their mark. Warangal's glorious history, beautiful lakes, fine architectural temples, rich flora and fauna have contributed to its importance in the history of the region.
