Golconda Fort
Built with Geometric intricacies during the reign of Ganapathi Deva, the Warangal Fort with its impressive and beautifully carved thorana (leaf like) arches, and pillers inside spread over a radius of 19 kms between Hanumakonda and Warangal and the impregnable fort was popularly known as the seat of power. The fort consists of seven towers, with a radius of 8 kms. The main Fort has 45 towers, and a Temple of Mother earth in the middle of the fort (Swayam Bhudevi Alayam).
Located in the heart of the twin cities, it actually divides Hyderabad and Secundrabad, Tank Bund is a man made lake. Tallest monolith Buddha stands in the center of the lake. Its a magnificent site.
The Mecca Masjid took over a hundred years to build.It can accomodate more than 10,000 devotees at any given time.Its high arches,embellished with filigreed masonry, are framed by graceful colonnades and minarets. This is a just a stone's throw from Charminar. Within its precincts lie the tombs of the Nizams of Hyderabad.
