Comfortable Hotel

I stayed in a Standard Double Room for 2 nights a week or so back. The check in was smooth, the front desk staff was smiling and friendly, got a small glass of welcome drink (really chilled fresh lemonade - maybe 50 ml) - was offered a choice of twin bed. The room was fairly large and overlooking the main road called M G Road aka Bunder Road. The Room had a double bed, 2 bed side tables with 2 bed side lamps, 1 telephone, 1 pad and 1 pencil. A 2 seater sofa, a round centre table, a work desk with chair, a table lamp, an internet jack (extra charge). The room also had a TV and a mini fridge (empty but for a complimentary bottle of water - Kinley brand of Coca Cola Co.). Another complimentary bottle of water was next to the fridge (maybe for people who need it at room temperature). A weighing scale was available in the room. Tea/Coffe Maker was there - coffee powder packets, assam tea bags, darjeeling tea bags, milk powder packets, sugar packets, sugar-free packets and a bottle of water to make the tea/coffee.

The bathroom had a telephone, a tub, a hair dryer, a bottle opener, a string for drying clothes, shampoo, soaps, talc powder, moisturiser, tooth paste and tooth brush apart from the standard amenities you expect from a hotel of such class. Bath towels and hand towels were there. A cane basket for throwing wet towels was also there (at least the towels did not end on the floor). An electronic safe was in the cupboard. Morning newspaper was delivered to the room - attached to which were the breakfast coupons.

Complimentray breakfast was in the coffee shop and had a couple of varieties of juices, cornflakes, milk, fresh fruit, dosas, idli/vada, sambar, eggs, tea/coffee and the whole spread - sumptuous and filling.

The photo including its frame was missing from the wall in the toilet. The hot/cold mixer in the bath was not functioning properly. Only 1 tooth brush was kept in the toilet of a double room with double occupancy.

House keeping was prompt and provided all the extra towels, extra soaps, etc as and when informed ... tea/coffee/sugar/milk satchets were supplied as and when called ... complimentary water was sent to the room whenever called ... service was prompt.

Cannot compare with other hotels of the city since I did not stay in them or even visit them but I can say that this hotel was quite upto the mark compared to hotels of lots of other cities that I have stayed in - important was the smiling and helpful nature of all the staff that I encountered.

Just outside the hotel are taxi rental company, paan shop, small time retailers. Come out of the hotel from the In Gate, turn left, down the road is a medical shop also.
