Hotel Dynasty: Worst hotel experience in India
Hotel Dynasty is rated 4-star and it has the price. Now who does these ratings? Wrong on all points. The rooms have filthy carpets. House-keeping staff is pounding on your door day and night for tips. There is no end to the hidden charges. Coffee Shop closed for a private party so I was sent to the 'restaurant' for the coffee shop menu and charged double. And to top it off amoebic dysentary from the dirty jam pots at breakfast.

Hotel Mayur - My favourite
The city of Guwahati has many hotels, especially in the Paltan Bazar area (near the railway station), and one can just walk around the area enquiring from one to another, there no end to the list. However, my personal favourite has been Hotel Mayur. Whenevery I go to Guwahati, I do stay at this Hotel. It has huge accomodation capacity. Double room charges are Rs. 300 - Rs. 400 per day, and that's quite reasonable. The hotel is very safe, staffs are friendly and rooms are clean. It's mainly lodging only, but there is a vegetarian restaurant at the ground floor of the Hotel from which you can order and they even provide room service. Prices at this restaurant is not very high as also not average. It's more than average. But very good food.
Great views from the hotel, especially if you are putting up on one of the higher floors.

This is one of the quitest hotel in the city of guwahti. away from the main bazaar. hotel staff is really nice and good service.
