Transport arrangements in Manali to Leh

Hi ,

we are a couple from Singapore planning a trip from Manali to Leh on the 2nd of August. However, we have no clue of how i can do the road trip to Leh. We would prefer to do it by a jeep or by taxi. How can we make arrangements for this? Any idea of the cost?

Also am looking for a couple to be travelling companions with us..

Hi
The best option is to land in Manali, spend a night and hunt for a deal. Lots of Jeeps/Taxis will be available for Rs 1000 (approx) per person on sharing basis.

Buses will be around Rs 800.

If you are starting from Delhi. I would recommend Volvo Buses starting from Janpath . Book it in advance.

isn't it the rainy season in manali? and the roads will be slippery, many landslides too. so check before leaving on this trip by road. no point in getting trapped and waiting for helicopters to rescue you....

better option is to fly from chandigarh to leh and then travel in leh around in a hired jeep. leh is the cold desert of india and hence no rains there..

Please check, I do not think there is a flight from chandigarh to leh.

Try Deccan from Delhi to Leh.
