Great place and a bargain out of season

We would not have considered this place as it is out of our budget.

However, after talking to the bar manager of Johnson's Cafe, he offered us a price that we could not resist. 900 Rupees 150 Rupees for heating. Normal price 2650 Rupees for the room alone.

Johnson's Lodge is a stone and wood building, in the traditional Himachal style. The rooms are spacious with wooden floors, warm rugs, large double bed, reasonable sized satelite TV, comfy chairs and a glass and wood table. The rooms are tasteful with warm colours. Great views of the mountains. Pictures of the local area are on the walls. The lighting is soft, no strip lighting. Great shower! Set in a peaceful area just 5 minutes walk from the main area of Manali.

There is seating outside in the summer. There are 2 bedroom cottages with balconies also available. More Pictures soon, I promise.

Unique Quality: Friendly, helpful staff. Warm, very comfortable room with a relaxed feel to it. Close to town and in a peaceful area.
