Flat roofs!
by Vija_v
There was very interesting thing in India. Most of the buildings have flat roofs, which is very useful. At first you can always use the roof as a veranda or place where to dry your laundry. And from other side, when u need more space in your house, you just make one more floor and there is no need to destroy the previous roof.

"Onward Journey"
The trip was by road with a bus load of 80 students of class XII and XI from Godwin Public School Meerut and six teachers.
Having halted at Mandi enroute, we finally reached Manali the next day.
The hotel was chosen 5 Km before the destination at a picturesque site by the river bank.
"At Manali"
The Place was 'a dream come true'. The daily walk from the hotel to Manali was always a warm up to the days itenerary.
The crowning glory of the trip was Rohtang Pass - all clad in pure white snow inviting one and all.
With warm tea, 'samosas', or the 'garam bhuttas' all at Rs 10/- each the day at Rohtang was well spent!
"The Journey Back"
As always, with long faces we started back after a 7 day sojourn in the lap of the Mighty Himalayas!
With the halt at Mandi and Anandpur Sahib the journey back was rued by one and all.
Yes, the birthday celebrations of Pallavee of Class IX at Karna Lake, Karnal did wonders to break the monotony of the journey back home!
