i'm going to be travelling to manali with a friend in july. we'd like to go to some interesting/ off the beaten track places around manali. since time is a constraint- we have 4 days only for the stay (excl travel) pl suggest some good places to visit & trek in. suggestions of short 1 day treks would be great....

There is very many things to see around Manali. Mountains there is really nice.
But i think you have to go to Rohtang Pass.
i wasnt lucky to be there, cos during April there still was to many snow and the roads was closed. But u have to be more lucky, i have seen pictures from there- it is amazing.
u have to contact any tourist company in Manali, or ask even in hotel and they ll offer u tour to there.

This is original painting by Nicholas Roerich,who dies 1947,he was married Devika Rani.Naggar was home for them sometimes,now the home converted to museum&art gallery.
Entrance fees is Rs 20.Few 100ft away there is Urusvati himalayan research institute.
Urusvai means sanskrit "light of the morning star"founded by De Roerich 12 th July 1928. It has small art gallery ,displaying painting of Naggar tribal artists.
Manali is beautiful hill station,2050m above sea leavel,surrounded by mountains,full of streams,river,small waterfalls.
Its 600km North of Delhi,by road it took 14 hrs.
Its in Himachala Predesh,around Manali so many places to see&enjoy the nature.
Best time to visit April to June.But people go all time,winder its best place to skiing in India.
Its best stop over place for Leh bound travellers,when Rohtang pass opens for few months in year.From town itself just look up all around,can see the beautiful view of majestic snow peaked mountain ranges.
I heared lot about Manali,but coun't go until now,this is my first visit to Manali.
I know its beautiufl place,never expect its sooooo nice place.Really i liked &enjoied.This is place for all outdoor activites,white water rafting.paragliding,skiing,treckking.
Manali is full of small streams,so will come across small bridge.
This water fall is on way to Rohtang pass.
Manali is famous for Apple orchids.I saw only Apple trees,Pine trees.
Apple season is September to November.But never get chance to see Apple orchid ,so the visit &and pics :))))
