Air-Conditioned in Winter

In Leh, if you do stay at the only centrally air-conditioned hotel, ‘The Grand Dragon’ in Old Road, Sheynam locality, ask for either of the two best suites, numbers 316 and 317. The view is simply out of this world. The restaurant is done up grandly and the cuisine is superb.

Unique Quality: Courteous staff, superb scenery.

Quiet and Nice

We didn't stay here, but would cross it veryday and think this looks like a nice place to stay in. Finally we did go in and ask the tariffs, for Rs2000 per night it was a very good place to stay in if going with family. Again the food was expensive, but the rooms looked very comfortable and the views from the second floor was fantastic!

HOTELS IN LEH-LADAKH

With the coming of "The grand Dragon" and "Hotel Ladakh Residency" should we say that a new trend has taken place of a "Star Category" hotel in Ladakh's History.

Other best accommodation avaiblable are the "A" Class hotels and second on the line are the "B" Class hotels. But the family run guest houses nestled in green oasis are nice and comfotable to stay and the prices are good too. The only dissadvantage is that most of the guest houses only serve breakfast, so one has to walk out to the town (within 1-3 Kilometers) for dinner and lunch to restaurents.

"A" Category hotels charges about 77 US$ with all the meals for a double room and Guest Houses charges US$ 3 to US$ 25per night with break-fast.
