We were looking for Hotel bookings in Kashmir for our vacations, initially I was doubtful about the quality of hotels in Jammu and Kashmir, I was surfing through various website and finally I find www.kashmirhotels.net they not only booked hotels for us in Pahalgam, Srinagar, Gulmarg but also gave us the valuable suggestions and Finally I had a dream stay at hotel Centure, It was located near the beautiful Dal Lake and view from our room was excellent, Food and Other services were also good, I will remember this trip through out my life

300 rooms and as many guns
Located beside the beautiful Dal lake. My window had an amazing view.... and just at the edge of the lake, i caught a glimpse of what soon became a familiar sight all over town... a `bunker' and soldiers manning it with a light machine gun (LMG) - in this case, guarding the hotel against an attack from seperatist Kashmiri groups.
But why the hotel? We soon found out that the chief of police lived here, and therefore it can be a legitimate target!
Ah - ok - welcome to Srinagar.
Recently though, i heard that the hotel has been spruced up - from the Government hotel look that it carried earlier, and that more rooms have been made available to tourists.
