Beautiful sunrise and sunset
One of my fondest memories of Srinagar were the beautiful sunrise and sunset among the tranquil water of Dal Lake with the surrounding mountains. The only problem was that the weather was very cold then :)

Shikara in Dal Lake
Hi,
I'm planning to stay in a houseboat for a weekend in october. as a birthday surprise to my wife.
I read a review by husain here that the houseboats are old and they stink.
So which would be the best(read clean) houseboat to stay in.
thanks
we have been in srinagar last year.
i can't remmember the boat name but it was too expensive-65$ per nigth.
our deal was including all the meals-big mistake-don't eat on the boat-poor food.
I stayed on Fairy Land - you will be offered a very tasty Kashmir tea.
Take offer of a whole day shikara trip on lakes Dal and Nagin, just refuse visiting shops if you do not want to buy souvenirs and honey.
