I've lived in Bangalore for more than 3 years now having moved from Mumbai and I'm enjoying every moment. The weather is great although its now an expensive city.

For accommodation in Bangalore you should look at the clasissifieds in the local newspapers - Deccan Herald or the Mid-Day (Bangalore edition).

try www.deccanherald.com or www.mid-day.com

All the best and enjoy.

MYSORE PALACE (Mysore)
The former Maharaja's Palace is now turned into a museum that can be visited daily. Fabulous rooms, incredible paintings and luxury all around. The entrance is very cheap, no photos allowed inside the palace. You must remove your shoes to enter (wear sandals and wash your feet that day!).
At nights on sundays the lighten up all the Palace with more than 50.000 lights!!!

South Indian Filter Kaapi

by abi_maha about Kalmane- Jayanagar

If it is fresh filter coffee that you seek in bangalore, head away from the popular cafes and head to Kalmane Koffees at Jayanagar near the Titan Watch Showroom. A cup of filter coffee served in typical south indian style in a stainless steel tumbler and cup is what you will get. Sip away and feel at home!
There's one in Forum Mall and another in Garuda Mall as well. Stay away from the expensive Cafe Coffee Days and Baristas of bangalore, instead have refreshing hot/cold coffees here at Kalmane!
Kalmane means 'Stone House'. Blue Grass or Kaapi Samrat

Lalbagh Botanical Garden - Part 1

by Willettsworld

This 240 acre (971,000 sq.m) garden is located to the south of the city centre and is one of Bangalore's main attractions. Hyder Ali commissioned the building of the garden in 1760 but his son, Tipu Sultan, completed it by importing trees and plants from several countries. It holds a number of flower shows, especially on Republic Day (26th January). The garden has over 1,000 species of flora but it's main attraction is the Glass House, modelled on London's Crystal Palace. It's a very nice and well kept garden to walk around and I did so with my auto rickshaw driver he came with me and pointed out things to me such as a 300 year old "Christmas tree".
