You see a palace and several temples, but you shouldn't forget about the village. It's lovely to take a stroll here. The villagers are friendly and do not try to sell you things agressively like in other cities.

Hi, does anyone knows how long it will take to travel from Mayiladuthurai to Bangalore or vice-versa by Bus/coach. By train it will take about 12 hours, is taking a bus a faster option? Thank you.
Hi
I cannot comment on this particular route- however, we have done numerous trips in India by bus/coach and trains. Trains are always faster.
The buses are slower, they have frequent stops, and not always reliable or comfortable. Sleep is impossible. So all in all- go for the train.
This particular case, bus should be faster.
Mayiladuthurai to Pondicherry via Chidambaram is around 3.5 hours and Pondicherry to Bangalore is around 6 hours by bus. All in all should be under 10 hours by bus
It is better for you to reach Tiruchy(Tiruchirapally) from Mayiaduthurai(Mayavaram) as it is a short distance.
From tiruchy, you can take a direct comfortable train No:6231 Mysore Express leaving Tiruchy at 22:40hrs and arriving Bangalore city station at 06:05hrs net day morning.Min sleeping accommodation Fare Rupees 191 per person.
Alternatively, you can take a volvo bus too from Tiruchy main bus stand run by private operators such as KPN travel( check their website).
In my opinion night train would be more comfortable.

Set on a small rocky hillock is the Ragigudda temple in the residential Jayanagar 9th Block, Bangalore- this temple is my favorite temple in the city! I would certainly recommend visiting the same in the early morning before 07:30 am as it gives you an opportunity to sit on the rocks around the temple for some sightings of the birds on the trees around and also a darshan of the deities before the crowds start pouring in.
